I actually shock that still going on.....
I did predict that by the end of 2014 we will know the future of Dust 514... and Project Legion confirms my predictions.
It seems that i did the right thing getting a new PC instead of a PS4. |

Stage 1 was at fanfest just gone, try and get rid of the playerbase without actually pulling the plug
Stage 2 requires the pulling of said plug, i think they will get the CPM to do it at china when they get sent over for the holiday complete with a dev blog about how lazer focused they are on DUST with pictures of the cpm and the 1 remaining dev enjoying BBQ dog on the back of players who still buy AUR, on the last day you will be able to watch the pulling of the plug live on the twitch stream for a small price of -ú/$19:99 for the HD stream |

Most of the damage was done with a rifle but I thought you finished me off with a pistol. Anyway I'll get you back =ƒÿ£, oh and you killed me with a shotgun whilst I was sitting on the objective, you zipped past me running sideways lol and unloaded the shotgun as you went, that also made me chuckle even though it was me doing the dying. the idea of dust is what brought me here . love the skill trees and pc . there was a point of running pubs just there planning was a horror story.i believe this uses unreal engine 3 .very old . wasnt really much thought put in to it and the coding is very bugy with little in the way of back up script or a check systems . open maps with long range weapons need i say more . |

(As a world species, we haven't changed much in our community behavior: some people come together at the race car events to see someone win... but it's still the fact that in every come-together event there"ll be people who just came hoping to see a race car crash.)
Servers HAVE been known to persist, even after the game is considered a failure or a dinosaur and folks have moved on. Believe it or not, the PS2 games StarWars Battlefronts and SW Battlefronts II (yep, I said PS TWO) still have active servers. Really!! I got the IP addresses for them from an old PS2 fan, and those two games are fully online even today.
(NO, I'm not trying to suggest that Dust-EVE franchise is a fair comparison to SW franshise.... LOL, I'm just suggesting that an online game doesn't always meet a "shutdown" fate.)
Keep your fingers crossed, and thanks for posting this thread like a person who came to see someone win, and not one of the players among us who still a drooling to see it crash...

At the most it'll either be shut down when Legion is available on PC (beta, early access, whatever the fck you want to call it) or when Legion is ported to the PS4 (I know nothing has been said that it will be ported but if it's successful on the PC then there's no reason for them not to port it).

And even then, I don't think they would shut down Dust until they had a proper reason to do so (or unless sony forced them to)

I think Dust 514 was shut long time ago... as soon as they realized that it won't be possible to create what they wanted too. They just haven't pull the plug yet because people still buying for boosters....
But is obvious that their hearts is with Legion now...

Dust will be here with us for a long time. We do have delta and maybe something else for a surprise ( gallente heavy weapon, amarr heavy weapon, and new maps. However, it might shutdown when legion starts since everyone will migrate to that game along with the sp transfer. I know one things for sure there will be a full respec after delta. Now that's just a prediction.

legion is Dust 2.0.. dust will stay alive and our SP/assets will be migrated to legion and CCP stated that they will develop dust and legion alongside one-another so.. Chill your mamaries

Depends on playerbase. People still buy AUR so there isn't a reason for them to shut down unless playerbase dramatically diminishes and/or Sony officially brings the PS3 era unto a close. Judging from the PS2, that might not be for a while. |

EvE online community is on PC, Dust514 community is on PS3, some play both the games, but the majority only have a PS3.
