I like seeing turret installations be a bigger deterent to tanks at close range, but I'd also like to see less off them on the board. Make them even stronger and reduce their numbers. Bigger maps would work well with the amount presently on the maps, not these maps.
There are four on the bridge plus one or two on either side of the bridge on Border Gulch alone. You can lock that whole center map area down completely. That's overkill. If one turret can survive say as long as a CRU then that would be adequate enough defense.
Hey, even allow the infantryman to get inside the turret too.

The cooler idea they had a while back was making it so certain installations couldn't be permanently destroyed, but only disabled through damage which could be repaired later. These same installations couldn't be hacked through normal means either, but rather they were controlled through a command node that maintained several turrets in an area.
The idea was, you take the terminal, you take all the defenses around that objective. A shame they got rid of that idea as it would have made the flow of battle a bit more coherent. |

You dont get it, in Dom and ambush they will be mini points to defend. Set up a heavy, logi, and a gunner and its going to get crazy

I mostly use rail tanks. I guess im going to have to use them more. I cant wait for my entire team to be using turrets in the redline trying to get vehicle damage points.

I think what they need is plate shielding around the base of the installation, so people have to work a little harder to wipe them off the map as well as help shield those who are using it at the time. Of course the top of the turret would still be vulnerable but present a smaller target.

Set up a heavy, logi, and a gunner and its going to get crazy yea on paper that's what should happen but 95% of the time it will just be stupid blueberries zerging and crying about something killing them.. besides we dont even have the player count for this bullsht- most PC players won't even allow room for my small turret ADS gunner much less make room for 4 players to camp a turret. if your not zerging at a capture point your not playing dust right. we have no room for epic strategies because this isn't a sandbox. i'm not even sure what demographic this kinda crap appeals to. the turret was buffed by like %500, i didnt bother to do the math but we obviously have a child at the wheel of dust the way redundant things like turrets are being over buffed for some guy who made a post at least he got his wish.

Usually they lemming it into the bridge and all die like he says. until I or you pull out a AV of some kind to drop it. damn near takes 10 basic swarmer shot to kill one. |
