I think that snipers, AKA the few that can make sniping viable, are in general all around good players with or without a sniper rifle.
At least i think so. You can kind of be a jack-of-all-trades type player if you snipe first. And sniping isnt for everyone.
Sniping is kind of my niche even though im not the best sniper obviously, but please bring back the old Charge SR sound.
I HATE the new one.
I did not type that way i thought it but i think i got the point. And CQC sniping is possible just saying.

No scoping people is fun, I don't do it now since no sniper can OHK, they can barely even 2 hit kill, but back in the day it was fun. |

I hated the old sound, it was way too high pitched. The one we got now is still pretty damn annoying but nowhere nears as the old one was.

Back when the small blaster turret was near about useless, I had a guy ride up in an LAV while I was sniping. He hops into the turret and starts shooting at me while I strafe back-n-forth towards him charging up a shot; I shoved the barrel right into his crotch and pulled the trigger. One of my best sniper kills to date.

Well a good sniper is a good marksman and a good marksman is a good soldier. So yeah... accuracy is important. I like to quick scope snipe but I'm not really into trying to no scope snipe. It just seems like you should just use your sidearm if you are close enough to no scope. Definitely not into any buffing of the SR, if this was a stealth buff SR thread. Sniper rifle works fine for me, a lot of people just can't compensate for scope sway at close range and hide in mountains.
I actually advise new players against putting points into SR though. Because you really need to learn to headshot first before worrying about plink spamming with higher damage variants. Plus, I honestly think a new infantry player should invest in AV and rifles AFTER their core shields and/or armor (Depends on their suit preference as to if they should get both like Gallente pffft don't worry about the roughly 20 extra hp you get from shield 5 lol.) |
