Is tha Mag sec even a good Sidearm? I've always used SCR pistols and SMG and a firm believer they are the best Sidearms...
I noticed the VERY Above average Damage the Magsec SMG does (more than an AR) but... the Low Rof plus spooltime and strange dispersion make the weapon almost un usable to me.
How im i failing?
The best Damage mod is a HEADSHOT....

Honestly, the only downside is that the ridiculous kick takes a long while to adjust to. I personally use the Magsec as an all-purpose scrubber. It's just so much fun to play with and look at in the model viewer
Have no idea why the silencer was excluded from the actual battle model though. Blue tag would be nice.

If you read the very old dev blog about the new weapons coming (magsec) ccp did have plans to add an assault/suppressed. Version. That's why you see the suppressed version in the market viewer. I guess they decide to just push out the update with false previews and descriptions, nothing they haven't done before. Unfortunately now we'll never see the other versions on t he ps3. Maybe in legion. And i'll tell you it's almost strong enough to use as a primary if your good with it.

I still don't know what the Magsec is for. As a follow up sidearm, it's charge time makes it perform worse than the ScP and SMG. The kick is also ridiculous so fighting at range is a pretty bad idea.
Someone help me... I took the thing to Prof 3 during the first week of its release but I don't even use it. |

IF you plan on blind firing it, you better be use to the rail rifle kick. If your aiming with it, you never hold it down for an extended period of time. You need to fire until it gets to much for you to handle, stop, then fire again. Compared to smg it is under powered, but very capable of killing.

I use it a lot on my forge gun fits. It's the most well rounded sidearm that isn't quite as good as a light weapon but still pretty good. Its range is better then any of the other sidearms with the exception of the bolt pistol but of course the bolt pistol is a 6 shot semi-auto. It kicks a lot like any rail weapon, but like most kick you can compensate for it. |
