On more than one occassion there have been times (and im sure many of you have had the same experience) where i thought a redberry was sneaking up on me because of the ash falling too close to my face. I think its high time they removed the ash from the game. And since its nothing more than an unecessary aesthetic in the game it wont effect game play if it's removed. If you agree leave a like if you dont then leave a comment as to why.

I just also wanted to add that weather effects tend to eat up deditated wam and graphics cpu. No reason not to remove it when we still have texture and terrain popping. |

A simple limit cap on the amount a team can put out for each of those items will surely solve that problem. Forcing people to work as a team and place links and nanohive in necessary and strategic positions.

Do go on. Do go on.
In reality we need to acclimate these panicking deer to the "magical lights" they freak out about by adding more glowing red embers to cross the screen.
1. The embers occupy a different region from the arrow indicators -- they are screen detail not environment detail. 2. The embers are a different shape. 3. The embers are a different size.
If you cannot tell these things I suggest you actively practice on the ash filled maps until you get it down.

I've had this so many times X_x How about the little glowing red lamps on certain towers... everytime I check a map I have to doublecheck, or when I am trying to countersnipe the stupid flashing dots make me think someone is there... even a few times in a row :p |

Im glad you said most and not all since i been gaming since i was 5 years old and im 35 years of age. I have gotten used to it but i feel as if its an unecessary aesthetic in the game that have no real value. Besides how many of us actually stop to take in the scenery of the game when being shot at? I know i sure dont.

What arguement Im simply stating a fact nothing more. Besides as i have said before its an unnecessary aesthetic that serves no purpose in the game whatsoever. Its there for nothing more than looks and to be honest how many people do you know actually pay attention to the scenery in the game when they are actually shooting at the enemy? Very few so aesthetics in a shooters are usually null and void and serve no purpose other than to be a filler.

Replying on this because I agree the ash sometimes spooks me when i'm not paying attention - but I quite like the effect it has on me. Usually I focus more once i've been caught out by it. keeps me more alert for reds in the area.
Know what you're saying but in this case I would be more for keeping the ash effect than getting rid of it. However, if removing falling ash reduced the chance i've lag i say kill it off instantly!

Depends how creative you are with blue Ganking.
Novel methods are trolling. simply shooting them in the back of the head is douchey. Shooting them with a sniper rifle just before they engage enemy is hilarity in action (you don't kill them ) because they have no idea who shot them. |

This post is so funny cause i have made a double take at least twice sometimes thinking that ash was a red scout who just cloaked as i looked their way. "What was that!?!??..........Now it's over here!!!........**** a scout RUN!!!!" |

Your Missing the big picture with DUST and CCP incompetence in this matter, and frankly ash should **** everyone off.
Dust has had persistent real problems since Uprising launch when CCP Wolfman decided to overhaul the entire aiming system that everyone enjoyed in chromosome to the garbage we still are left with today. We have had endless hit detection issues, Aiming system issues, Collision mechanics, Net code, Texture rendering and pop ins... Frame rate... Frame rate, Frame rate........
I could go on forever about the real issues that have plagued this game and kept it from success. Matchmaking? being a massive problem.
What did CCP spend the game performance resources and a developer team on? A Fuking Volcano and some floating ash that drops everyones frame rate.
What the fuk.
This is CCP Shanghai in a nutt shell.. 100 guys walking around an office smashing gong's and calling it a show. |
