We've all wondered, "What does 5 1 4 mean?" and have yet to be provided with a solid answer.
Moving along, the names for advanced weapons have some curiosity inducing monikers.
9K330 Forge Gun
BK-42 Assault Combat Rifle
RS-90 Rail Rifle
GEK-38 Assault Rifle
CBR-7 Swarm Launcher
Any ideas as to what they mean?
Fictional and facetious answers are welcome alongside the slim chance of seeing an actual, factual answers.

It's RS-90 combat rifle. Rail Rifle advanced was SL-4 for assault. SB-39 for regular.
Couldn't resist being one of those perfectionist assholes 
In answer to your question though, I don't know what they would signify. Could mean anything. Maybe the numbers all have some sort of significance for the devs.

I just assumed CRW-04 stood for "Crow" 04 and the CRD-09 stood for "Card" 09.

I don't think it means anything, the format is just an easy way to identify an advanced weapon from other tiers I think.
