headbust SVER True Blood Dark Taboo 120	Posted - 2014.08.04 15:04:00 - [1] - Quote the damage per second of the ion pistol is over 300. but the damage per shot is 49.5 so to make this possible u would have to land every shot (impossible with the ion pistol by the way) and fire 6 times in under a second also impossible without mod controller. i suspect most semi auto weapons r this way this is just the one i have been really testing since its not worth the isk i pay for it. CCP the ion also says 40 meter optimal if i remember correct that is also false it has a 20m optimal or you r doind no damage to the target. DEV'S do you guys play this game or did u get tired of all the crap too one other thing the hit detection on shotty's still suck. before i get some whiner coming in here saying ( NUHU IT ONE SHOTTED ME) it doesnt do it everytime but it does mess up a scout = once you turn your back on me you'll never be able to look back

I can normally out put 6 or 8 per second if I am lucky meaning I get a DPS of around 430-570. "We were commanded us to burn the system...We did. If Preparation is half of the battle and knowing is the other half, Then there is no need to fight.

Futhermore a few select people can achieve similar DPS's by just spamming the fire button fast enough! The Ion Pistol being broke is because the Ion Pistol is actually broke, even being fired at full auto it has one of the lowest DPS values of any infantry weapon, when in reality it should have one of the highest given its short range. Furthermore the absolute range on the wespon is still bust with it being set to -1 the Ion Pistol simply stops doing damage past its effective range. Finally the Ion Pistol doesn't do enough damage for the overcharge shot especially considering more than 10% of the charge causes the overheat effect! These are what contribute to the weapon being poor in combat! Even firing it at full-auto doesn't make it any better!
