Well people must recognize me because at the start of the match there's a lot of angry adv suits hitting me like I did something wrong already...so must be a dust-celeb or villian in someway..

I think some people here can be considered Dust Famous due to forums to be considered Kardashian status (Godin, True, Hawk?, John Ripper). While some can be considered Seth Green famous (appears occasionally to catch your interest for a few seconds then gone).
I think I would be stunt man famous. You only see him if you look hard enough.

I posted quite a bit on the forums but no one knew me.
And then I started making videos...that's what really got my name around.
The thing is, the popular guys here aren't just the ones who play Dust...we're the ones who have been around the longest, who help the community and provide valuable feedback, and who are the most dedicated to this game.
I wouldn't compare it to a TV show, but more like becoming popular and well known because you have done so much for both the people around you and your dedication to something.
Or we're like that guy who always seems to make a joke out of everything, like how John Ripper got so many of his likes simply by talking about tacos. If you do it enough, you eventually become "that taco guy", and pretty soon everyone knows about you.

I think when it comes down to it, being recognized for something you work so hard at,it feels good. You could be a waitress at a crappy dinner, or a dish washer at chilies, as long as someone says "hey your doing a great job keep it up" it makes it all worth while. It may be a small victory, but we all want to make some mark in our life, no matter how big or small, don't stoop down to that level where you hate somebody for having their name known. And I wanna congratulate all the event winners for last months event, congrats you guys, you made history and we can't wait to kill you with your own named guns :]

Hm. Well, I'm at best a b-list Dust celebrity. More likely c or d. It's nice being recognized in-game, but otherwise that ranks exactly nowhere on the top 100 things I've accomplished in my life.
Anyway, my question is, what does it say about the OP that this type of limited pseudo-notoriety is in any way bothersome?
