first of all lets address a problem or two with fielding AV..
switch to an AV dropsuit.. get killed by inf.. switch to anti inf.. get killed by vehicle.. it can be a vicious and frustrating circle..
now.. my idea will not only improve the game as a whole but also wipe away the tears of infantry who feel oppressed and fearful of vehicles.. and will help bring perspective to "heavys" (see Sentinels) and how they seem OP..
my idea is this,
reduce skill requirement for learning commando to Heavy suit Level 1. there.. done.. simple as that...
what this will effect,
it will give players a nice suit(Commando) with decent EHP so players dont get mown down as easy/fast by sentinels/Protostompers.
it will give simultaneous access to 2 light weapons.. this said it would let players fill both anti Inf and Anti Vehicle roles, meaning less tears about vehicles being OP or dominant which may open the doors for advanced grade vehicles being RE-introduced into game, And may give players some "hope" against proto level players and/or Squads.
TL;DR Heavy suit 1 -> Commando suit (instead of heavy 3) lets people fill both AV and anti inf roles.(less tears about vehicles) more ehp(because commando) means harder to die against sentinels (less tears about HMG) newer player friendly/lower SP friendly for non bittervets.

It's already easy to skill Large Frame Suits and quite frankly you should have an AV option anyway.....
I currently cannot see a reason that would allow for my HAV tiers.....

I don't understand you suggestion. Heavy suits and Commando are on the same tier. They both take the same SP.

what i mean is heavy suit =!= commando.. but my point is you save like 200k+ SP from not having to get heavy suit 3 to open up commando 1.. and this can be a godsend for newberrys and vets alike who want access to a half decent suit while is flexible
the heavy suit is closer to sentinel while commando is more like assault suit.. but better (in the sense of actually being useful!)

I currently cannot see a reason that would allow for my HAV tiers..... well more people would possably run commando suits and have 1 AV weapon + their main weapon.. less tears about vehicles.. more chance for CCP to add advanced and proto tier vehicles again.. right?

He means that you only need lvl 1 basic heavy frame requirement in order to have access to commando instead of the usual lvl 3. That sounds like a good idea, more when i think is good 1 for the new player base.

So you wanna put dedicated av out of business as well as making vehicles just about useless... A better idea would be if people actually defend their av from infantry... The same as infantry defends their vehicles from av.
Either way you're still getting killed if you're doing something wrong, which is working as intended... It's not as though it takes more than 1 person to down any vehicle anyway... Heck you can usually have 1 av guy kill all the vehicles. |
