Not a QQ thread im just curious as to why it's looked down upon so much. There is so much hate for people that use this combo when it seems to be pretty decent sometimes. |

Its a scruby move. Sentinel giant HP combined with an long range OP weapon is OP. Same thing goes for Sniper Sentinels. High damage, long range weapon combined with lots of health is OP. Think of it like this A heavy with a long range HMG

Cause apparently the RR is OP and everyone hates heavies cause they are "eezee" mode. I don't blame people going that route currently you are either a fatman or a scout anything else is fodder for the two.

Strongest Rifle + Strongest Dropsuit, and you don't even have to be near anyone for it to be at its best.
The best counters are rare; FG working Infantry, a HMG able to somehow get within 50m, or another Heavy with a RR.

Or a Gallente Assault with a Duvolle.
Rail Rifle heavies are my favorite food for my Duvolle, they completely flop in CQC

It's frowned upon like heavies with any of the 4 assault rifles because you are effectively taking an Assault Suit and tripling its eHP, only the most exquisite gun game from an Assault suit is good enough to win out against these kind of fits.
It's seen as scrubberery because you are attempting to compensate for poor gun game with HUGE eHP buffers. Fortunately though heavies even with rifles are susceptible to a shotgun in the back, or a Nova Knive to the face.

There's really nothing wrong with it per se, but I hate it because using a long range, high DPS gun on a high eHP suit is a scrub tactic. It's the worst kind of FOTMery that tends to kill the game for other people, and I fraking hate it.
Anyways, it's kinda dumb to do it now because of Cal Commandos -- you are faster, have more ammo, and get a built in damage bonus for the RR on that suit. Much better option.

Sentinels using a sniper riffle run out of ammo fast unless someone else drops a hive. |
