I have to disagree on this one. I got the message the other day, then looked through my fits and found a lot I never use nor need, and then I deleted them.

I've got 5 prototype suits (Gal/Cal/Min Scout, Gal Logi, Cal Commando), 3 advance suits (Amarr Scout, Amarr Assault, Cal sentinel, and 12 standard suits ( Gal/Min/Amarr Sentinel, Gal/Min/Amarr Commando, Gal/Cal/Min Assault, Cal/Min/Amarr logistics). I have 10 prototype light weapons, 2 prototype heavy weapons,5 prototype sidearms, and 2 advance sidearms.
I want to have the possibility for 1 of each of my suits with every permutation on weapon combinations

It should be something we could skill into. I'd spend some SP to get more fittings.
It also exacerbates the protostomping problem. If you have to throw a fitting out it isn't going to be your good ones, so all you have left in the closet is your stomping clothes.

Adding folders and rising the max fit limit should be quite simple.
However, this is more than just a little UI thing, not being able to manage enough suits (more than 30 please!) does affect pub game balance: It does 'force' some people to go proto every game.
Personal example:
I have proto logi open. I have eight/nine equipment/grenade variations.
Multiply that by three: normal AR, TAC and officer.
Add PC battle opening suits.
Add some forge and sniper fits.
BANG limit of 30 fits has been reached!
There is no room for any budget suits or advanced suits - yet I'm getting hatemail for going proto in pubs.
So this is (small) part of the reason for new players having even harder time in pubs.
In order to emphasize the urge for this, I link previous threads here to show how much support the issue has had over LONG period of time!

yeah i dont know what the max is but mine is always maxed and wish it was just 10-15 more. i got several suits (2 scouts cal and gal 1 assault g1s and min heavy/commando 3) and weapons (every weapon except snipers) i use most of my fits also. |

This is my problem. I have 12 ADV suits. Over the last 2 years I've bought AUR suits when they are on sale. I expected Dust for 10 years, lol.
So basically I can run 12 proto suits. There's no chance for me to have a wide selection of cheap suits.
Not to mention 3 sidearm proto, all but sniper and PC light weapons proto, and both heavy weapons proto.
I have 1000s of proto weapons and probably 2500 proto suits of all flavors.
I know this is about number of fitting slots, but WTF do people expect me to run around in?

TBh dude they expect u to do what I do and have fittings in std and adv at the cost of NOT having a proto variant made n rdy. I go back in forth sometimes I run only proto and have loads of expensive load outs sometimes I have maybe 2 or 3 proto load outs and the rest is all std and adv.

Maybe fitting Export and Import ability would help rather than more fits (sony does have the ps+ cloud to store files on) being able to import a group of fits for PCs and export the daily driver fits would allow us to manage what we want loaded for fits at any given time. Eve has this, I am pretty sure the export process could be similar.
How long til this hits PC?

This is a bigger problem for older rather than newer players, but it does need attention. I still use some of my first ever fits that I made when i started eve for a general idea when giving fitting advice for pilots just starting...sometimes it can really pay to be able to share a fit in game. File management for fits and an ability to link a fit as in eve would be nice too.
How long til this hits PC?
