I have recently acquired an interest in your country and have made it one of my life goals to visit and possibly live there in the foreseeable future as I grow tired of my surroundings and wish for something "new". So my question or more accurately my questions are....
What's it like there in rural areas, suburbs, and cities?
What's it like there for African Americans to be blunt or your observation on conditions for people like me?
Is it English friendly.... (I'm an American at heart after all)
TD:LR yeah I know it's most likely not the right place to ask such a thing but with the dwindling of active forum lurkers I want this to be seen and answered.

I'm not French, but.... (you will see ;)
1. There is beautyful ... :) (but ofcourse you will see beautyful places around globe too ;) 2. If you are familiar with term 'Getho' ... there is too. In France are a lot of ppl from Africa (and other places) trying to live. So sometimes 'unrest' is goint to street. Poor and wealth as in USA. 3. Main problem is.. language. You must learn French, because it is their language and they use it. So if you are now fine using english :) no more easy mode. (ok.. there is ppl that know english too -.. so dont worry too much)
And extra bonus from me :) and DUST. - You will get extra lag when you hit DUST servers :), but it will go to your adventage. Noone outside France will track and hit you.
Cheers for French ppl there

Cheers for French ppl there Yes I've read up on the situation with immigrants from Africa and it seems from my knowledge that most of the hate is towards Muslims and other people from Africa which is sad to hear but is naturally to be expected.

I'm Italian, but have been in France four times, two for work and two on holiday.
Altough I've just been between Bordeaux and St. Emilion, it was beautiful, for sure. But from my personal experience, they're not so foreigner-friendly.
Don't think it's english-friendly too. They'll understand you for sure, but many will answer you in French instead of english, basically telling you to "adapt or die" ;p
As I already told you, I'm from Italy. Right now, there's no reason to move from the United States to EU, except for Germany and UK, it would really be a pain if you're used to the American lifestyle. The cost of living is way too high in EU compared to the United States.
Therefor, there are other beautiful places to live in Europe, where the cost of life is much lower than many EU countries, and even lower than US. Romania, for example, is a wonderful place, where life is so "easy", if you know what I mean... Germany would always be the best place to go if you want to stay in Europe and work: the salaries are the highest in the whole EU, people are pretty nice, and almost any German speak english.

Don't get me wrong, Italy is the best place in the world to visit.
Extremely artistic cities such as Rome, Florence, Venice, Padua, Pisa, Bologna, Siracusa, Palermo, Taranto; a breathtaking seaside in southern Italy, Sicily and Sardinia, many of the most wonderful monuments in the world, footsteps of a glorious history every corner. Oh, Italy is so wonderful!
Italy has been literally ruined by italians, or, well, by its politicians. You should not come here to live and work, it's a suicide right now.

Salaries are amongst the lowest in EU, but cost of life here is amongst the highest.
An example, Italian average salary is 800 E/month while German average salary is 1500 E/month but the cost of life is the same in both countries.
If you're going to start an activity, any activity here in Italy, be prepared! You'll venture into months of journeys into italian bureaucracy.
In Italy, energy costs at least twice as much as in any other EU country. If you're lucky, Gasoline's price is more or less 1.85 E / Liter ( average of + 276% compared to US ).
Italy does have Fiber internet connections only in Milan and certain zones of: Rome, Naples, Palermo, Bari. Otherwise you can always choose the good ol' 7 Mega.
Most important, italian tax burden is at 53,2% which is actually a world record. Combine this with very low salaries compared to other EU countries and you'll have the receipt for poverty.
Not trying to rag on your country but my first impression was the docks of Naples then i took a train to Pompeii(which was great btw)

Well, yeah, the docks of Naples are not the best first impression :D but I can guarantee that Naples is a wonderful place too!. And, yes, Pompei is really a special place... you can actually touch 2000 years old structures, lifestyle etc...

In France businesses can be specific with who they hire, i.e., they can "request" White Males.
So, yeah. Enjoy!
