I'm at 16m
I reckon my abilities jumped noticeably at around 9m and 15m.
At this point I have skilled into 3 advance level styles (commando, assault, scout) and all of them are useful and can change battles. I feel like my push for proto-assault was a waste because I ain't rich enough to cover my losses.

About 12mil, divided over 2 characters - 8.4 and 3.6. One is adv Cal Sent and adv Cal Commando, the other character is pure Gal Scout with 3.6mil of Scout-related SP investments. This is a pretty deadly character but I tend to die a little more than I should be. Like you, going for a proto suit on any of these chars is pointless as I won't be able to cover my losses eventually. If I ever get up to that level where I die 1-2 times a game I might give it a go... but hey I play solo 95% of the time. I don't think I will ever get there :p |

Sounds similar to me, only just started with the scout build tho - but enjoying it even with militia gear fitted. I would kill for the points I put into proto-assault back.. just plain didn't need to do it.

Infantry wise, maybe. I think if you skill all the weapons with reload/ammo and proficiencies you're down a good 25million if not more. The DS Upgrades will cost a hefty chunk too. If he's been playing a while he's bound to have tried all sorts of classes and race combos. But if he's skilled into tanks or dropships it might still not prove enough. |

And that is where my SP went into.
I only play with Gallente Suits and vehicles. Once I was through getting the Proto Gallente suits I wanted I went into vehicles....which is taking way too much SP for what it's worth tbh, If I wasn't rich and didn't have spare SP I would say skilling into vehicles is a very bad choice. for what it's worth.

48 mil, 2 mil in reserve as I try and figure out what to put it into.
No alts and the only non gallente suit I have is the SEVR so I can play an all blueprint suit.
Vehicles chew up SP though, there's still room to get some lvl 5's in that tree. I may train for the gal commando lvl 5, but I'm not sure it's going to afford much more than draining my wallet faster. There's 2 vehicle skills I want to get to 5 also, reduction to cooldown and increase in length, but that'll cost me about 4 mil so I'm only half way there.
At this point, it's difficult to decide what to put my SP into. |

32 ish I think been a while since I checked, its all in infantry gear (mostly MD and logi gear) I changed out of my min logi to gal when it was released and also picked up gal scout but I prefer min weapons (except for the plasma cannon and ion pistol for some reason) kind of wish I had stayed 100% minmatar though.
