I think there is a reason for this. Hear me out.
Ok I was just in a game of domination, and I'm just killing and I notice I'm low on ammo, so I go over to the only supply depot, but oh my! Enemy is forging the hell out it , so I quickly go into my logi suit, throw down some nanos and go back to my scout. I go out and kill some more, come back and boom no more supply depot, no more nanos, so I'm forced to resort to my trusty bolt pistol, Bolt pistol running low on ammo D: I try to go into my redline to see if there is a supply depot, nope! I'm just like wtf D: I don't have anything now and I do not want to suicide for ammo... Let me call in a tank.
Maybe the reason for tank spam is because no one has tanks? If you don't like tank spam, Let those beautiful supply depots live. |

Anyone else feel like supply depots should have some passive armor regeneration? Like 5 HP/sec or something...
Either that or more shielding, less armor.

Id prefer if all installations, supply depots, and CRUs had passive armor regen. Maybe someone install atleast a basic heavy armor repair? Its really boring to sit next to the supply depot with a Repair tool for some couple of minutes while being target practice for enemy infantry, enemy forgers, and enemy rail tanks. |

I seriously doubt tank spam has anything to do at all with how many supply depots exist on the field. |

Agreed. I feel like an idiot using my rep tool on a supply depot because some turd is pegging it instead of capturing it.
However, in response to OP. No. Tank spam is not due to lack of supply depots.

Not at all, I think you should however get points for defending them... I've often just got out a rep tool while someones trying to solo kill a depo, it's not rewarding, but it helps the team and pisses off the guy who runs out of forge ammo, lol.
On another note, it would be nice if both teams had the same number of depo's on their side of the map, theres one map in particular where one side has a red zone depo that's hard to kill, but the other team only has one outside the redzone (that you can't even get to with most vehicles!) |

I think there is one map where one of those map installations don't get a redline supply depot. |

first tankers were destroying supply depots to keep AV from spamming AV nades and forges and swarms at them from every direction, now AV is destroying supply depots so that tanks don't have any ammunition to kill them with.....
irony much? not to mention the roles are now switched.

I personally think that supply depos should not be able to be destroyed at all.....they play a very important role on the battle field.
What should happen is that you get an ammo supply from them and then you have a cool down period when you can't get any ammo for a short time...this would limit the gernade spam as well as AV spam with swarms and forge gun ammo.
But im just a person with an idea, that might be or might not be a good one. |

Which is just stupid because if you really want more ammo for your tank, you go to the redline and you get more, or you just recall and call in a new tank with full ammo. |

The fact that it is a strategic location makes it vital to be able to be removed. The same goes for CRU and A.I installations. They should be significantly harder to destroy than they are now, and there should be incentive for holding them and keeping them alive. However, with focused firepower they should be able to be removed to deny the enemy that particular advantage.
It would have been really nice if they had taken the time to implement player dropped installations, via squad lead, or some sort of WP cost. With the right implementation and restrictions on location, that surely would have added depth to the strategies in the gameplay.

Supply depots as strong as CRUs. Installation cannons as strong as supply depots and less numerous with one at every objective. Bam, tanks can be strong and no one can ***** about not having the means to hold off or destroy tanks. Plus, depots are better protected because a tank is very vulnerable trying to attack one for so long. Add bigger maps with plenty of distance and blind spots. Bam, a game worth playing.

Its a tactical choice. I've been in matches where the supply depot caused us more problems than help. And 1-2 tanks is not tank spam.

Any tanker who destroys a supply depot does it for a reason.
If its and enemy depot that is not accessible to the HAV it is a liability. Rarely if ever do infantry do anything worth while and never show installations the respect they deserve.
As such I remove them so they cannot be a threat to me.
Infantry never defends Large Turret Installations they just leave to be captured, or score the occasional 150 WP for the kill and the hack....but you never defences set up around then.... its fine for them to be hacked as long as you can go back later to pick them back up.
It's the same for supply depots. I've seen entire teams sitting on objectives that are blue with Red CRU and Supply Depots......not hacking.....and wondering why they are loosing the point....... then all of a sudden you have half a dozen reds sweep the point and pull AV.....
Quite frankly its because you cannot be trusted with your own assets, as such you don't deserve them and I will destroy them. Your lack of caring about my HAV and its capacity to aid your attacks on points, cover you while you hack, and destroy enemy HAV for you I consequently care little for infantry needs unless squad leader Aero tells me otherwise.

I agree with not holding being a fair time to kill it... But so many times I've parked my dropship on the only one the team can possibly capture at that moment... and some tit goes and blows it up "because 50 wp" lol. |
