Can the damage resistance bonuses of the Caldari heavy change to shield resistance to projectile weapons and plasma / rail rifle , I say / because I would take either or .. plasma is meh and that is their enemies weapon but rails are effective just like the combat rifle , also the HMG is a projectile weapon and is one of the only heavy weapons . Only meaning two .
I just believe that a race should have some resistance of some sort to their own weapons and who thought that giving the Caldari a projectile resistance bonus was wrong ?
I know that the projectile is Min but they are the enemy and the owners of one of two heavy weapons .
That should have been a given .
The Min should have the same to their armor not plasma .
You obviously gave the Gal the best bonuses as far as that goes and I use them , had to because of that and that makes it even harder for someone to go full racial is because of bad bonuses besides the fact that their obvious differences are not highlighted more .
That should be because that's what people know these races for .
Amarr : Lasers and tank , low slots but reasonable highs for damage .
Gal : Low slots for tank , vision , evasiveness ( speed and stealth ) and a inherent ability to self heal .
Min : Most balanced and suffers because of that , speed and stamina recovery to support that , shield effective threw regulators and chargers . Could shield tank but not enough HP's from weak state of shields and lack of enough high slots to take advantage , also the fact that they rely on high damage and must utilize a hit and run tactic supported by their speed advantage .
Cal : High shield supposed and I say that because it's not really that way where it's noticeable in difference like a Gal or Amarr can armor tank and people say that it's not suppose to be that way but if there reliance is on shields then it should be and more for that matter because they are the only race that has that , amarr and gal's don't have to armor tank and they have multiple advantages from their low slot advantage . Caldari's have to have some shield mod from the fact that's the first thing that takes on damage and with the low HP's from shield mods and the fact that they have no efficacy bonuses , they are at a disadvantage and chime in the fact that they should be faster from lack of base armor , they can't take advantage kincats or stamina and such with one and two low slots . They have no self regen and their stamina isn't all that great .
I can go on and on but after saying all of that I still would love to go full racial but bad bonuses kill that and make a suit that's already weak .. weaker and that much more unappealing .
Re-loading is fine but I can go to my weapons skill tree and do that , ammo is the same and should be encouraged but damage would be better and better than that would be some shield based bonuses like HP increases of a decent amount , efficacy bonuses , charger , energizer and regulator bonuses .
Shield efficacy is needed badly . There should be a much noticeable difference when a Caldari uses a shield mod of any sort because it's there thing like Gal's can self heal but there " thing " is much more noticeable at the moment .
One should see a Caldari and say " Dam ... look at those shield's and that big @ss hit box " , like I do when I see a tanked out Gal or Amarr .
But like seeing those tanked out Gal's and Amarr's , I just don't see it much ... if at all .
You would think that CCP would have given the infantry refund that should have been in 1.8.

That would actually be quite decent. The main enemy of a heavy is another heavy and they usually use a HMG. If there would be a bigger variety of heavy weapons then i wouldnt mind the current resistance.

why not give all sentinels a 5% dmg reduction against ALL damage (25% at L5) that way they can be useful vs any weapon system and it wont promote a F.O.T.M. race of sentinel suit and might cause more sents to rock forge gun on the ground and go toe to toe with tanks more often then being roof campers.. this could ahve a knock on effect of less people camping roofs cause they dont have the heavys protecting them from dropships
Minmatar Logibro in training. Rusty needles anyone?

If I remember correctly, every race's sentinel was given resistances to their main enemy's weapon type and to their ally's weapon type. Unfortunately for the Cal Sent, projectile weaponry belongs to the Minnies who are neither the Caldari's main enemy or their ally.
I'm not saying I'm against it if Cal Sent's resistances were changed to include projectile (I wouldn't care either way), i'm just pointing out how I believe CCP went about picking each Sent's resistances. |

Being Caldari I was just speaking from a strength of shield bonus perspective where the HMG is a heavy weapon and a projectile weapon coupled with a combat rifle and these are high impact weapons and the fact that the HMG is a heavy weapon used by heavies . Counter > Encounter
I would just like bonuses that actually help the suit for that role and I mean any suit for any role .
Bonuses should increase performance not make a particular suit for a role undesirable .

I suppose one possible change could be to switch the Sent role bonus to a Heavy Weapon fitting reduction (which is already going to happen, I think) and remove the 25% splash damage reduction.
Then give each Sentinel a percent damage reduction to their tank: Amarr - Dmg Reduction to armor Gallente- Dmg Reduction split between shields and armor with emphasis on armor Minmatar- Dmg Reduction split between shields and armor with emphasis on shields Caldari- Dmg Reduction to shields
Though, I'm not sure what the acceptable reduction would be without making Sentinels even better than they are now. After all, my Sent suit is already EXTREMELY effective and I'd rather not make it even more so.
I could also be way off track in regards to any sort of balance whatsoever... |
