i have stolen tanks on skirmish alot... they and their gunner jump out. i kill both and steal their tank while protecting the objective. its actually really fun to do and if they call another tank i use their to kill the new one. ah rd dots.... using the same tank which i stole to kill their stolen tank. happens alot. if its armor its probably had blaster so they bring in another armor blaster to kill me rather then armor missiles. i rarely give the enemy team the joy of kill a the tank... out to the redline i go with it, at the end after i stomp them with their own tank.

Shoot the pilot out of the cockpit
Throw an area effect grenade and hope he runs over it
Use a heavy weapon's splash to kill him while leaving the tank intact
Oh wait these are the Dust forums...

I was headed to the redline, but knew I wasn't going to make it, so stopped and let them kill the tank instead.

I stole some redberries tank a couple of days ago . He jumped out to drop an ob so i waited till u heard the wooomp sound and let rip . Basically i shot the poor sods head off then proceed to steal his maddy (quite well fitted and pricy I might add) and drive it strait into his Red line right in front of a Rail turret just to be sure..
Proud Gunlogi pilot and forge gunner since August 2012.
I fought and bled for the State on Caldari prime.

I murder taxi in a 6300 shield gunlogi - and I got it stolen all the time lol

I get my tank stolen only when I am dumb enough to call one in oms ambush in front of foes. Why do you people get out to hack things? If I need ammo, I go back to the redline and call in a new tank. I then recall out while the new one is coming in.
If my team is losing because they can't hold points, I decide whether or not I care and either put the tank away to assist or just keep tanking because honestly, who gives a **** about winning skirm or dom? |

Not about stealing a tank but I was shooting at a guy that called in a tank. He started shooting back and strafing then the next thing I know I get +25 as his tank drops on his head. I chuckled.
Can't say I'm all that surprised.
I've been drinking and may be drunk.... probably like most dust players.

When tanking I do occasionally steal the noob tanks, the best way is to leave it with one shot, they jump out I squash them against it... Recall my tank, hack theirs... Then get pissed off they fitted an afterburner to it : / |

I only managed to steal one tank to date. This rather bad tank driver was in a basic fat suit. I ran at his tank with my scout suit. He must have thought I had REs because he jumped out really early. It was my BPO dragonfly scout suit with BPO toxin SMG. I managed to kill him, so I took the tank. The map was Fracture Road and I was at Skirmish Bravo. His entire team was inside that building. I parked that tank right next to the door and starting shooting everyone. They called in 2 orbitals on me. The first didn't kill me because the helipad above saved me. The second finally got me.
Worth it.

Fair enough, I just put more value on using a tank to wreck suits than I put on holding letters or time spent reloading. |
