I feel the only game breaking thing about the Thale is the unnecessary range it ass. It allows people to shoot pretty much unimpeded with no risk to themselves. It's one thing for a sniper to be on a roof or hidden, at least then their not in the redline being invunerable. People who.sit using a Thale means players can literally keep killing from behind the redline where the opposing team can't reach them. I'm sat on 36 Thales wondering should I just do the easy thing and use them? "be a pro" by hiding out of enemy range and pretend I'm boss at this game because.I'm to scared to play properly.

The weapon is fine...
The problem is the excessive red line giving snipers, tanks and who ever else impunity to the enemy.
You can try and counter snipe but its stupid as the red line sniper can head glitch behind cover so you cannot shoot or see them but they can shoot you through the rocks.... needs fixing.

Then in that case Gastuns FG should be returned to 3k dmg a shot because it's an officer weapon.

The argument of "It's an officer weapon" doesn't work here it all.
The whole point behind officer weapons is that they're rare, and you are putting your rare weapon at great risk when using it. A thale's sniper on the other hand is deep within the redline, head glitching, and so the chances of losing one is slim to none.
I haven't lost a single Thale's, ever.

Ha, low risk. Many a Thale has thought that they were safe in their Proto Sentinel tucked away deep in the redline.. then the Python attacks.
If you find an issue and I stumble upon your thread, I will do my darnedest to get the issue known.

It's no OP, It's actually the only sniper rifle worth using. A proto charge sniper with level 5 proficiency, 3complx dmg mods, proto caldari commando can't even 1 hit body shot a militia gallante suit and it cannot 1 hit body shot most scouts either. |

If you ask me, every Sniper Rifle is OP. No damage fall-off all the way to 600m, so you can cower in the redline and have 4 counters to you while you deal 200-350 damage with no consquence or immediate danger. Why do people want to one-shot people without consequence? Please explain that to me. A buff to damage would only be justified if snipers were part of the battlefield, instead of a nuisance to it.
When I encounter someone sitting in their safe zone, all I can do is this: 1. Counter snipe - I have a damage modded Tactical fit, but I can't 3-shot the Sentinels and they usually move after the 2nd shot, so desperate to save their fit. And if they're good at what they do, they'll shoot me every time I crouch, trying to protect their crutch. Besides, they're usually head glitching or whatever it's called, so I have to refer to other counters.
2. On some maps, I can reach them with a Forge Gun, so Sentinels aren't a problem.
3. ADS - As I hear, missile turrets can get the job done.
4. This one's my favorite - MLT Dropship, scanner, HMG. Nuff said. Killed 2 Thale's doing this and plenty of Charges.
Pretty much every other game, while I'm pushing the objective and being useful, someone who thinks they're pro from afar makes me drop what I'm doing and deal with them. Some people don't give up, and my match is wasted.
But seriously, put a Tactical on a Scout, have a good sidearm, get out there. It's ridiculously fun and rewarding. A shame people don't try it.

Endgame Dust 514.
Snipers are near useless. (keep the Thale's where it is)
Objectives can be hacked by a cloaked scout in couple seconds while they're moving about in a figure eight pattern. Having to triple tap them with a Tactical or an Ishokune is garbage. If you're using a Charge it's 2 shots. Meaning 2 shots from a Thale's. And that's about the only way you're going to be able to stop them. Snipers aren't useful enough in PC unless wielding a Thale's and even then it's debatable. Tanks can do the same job better etc.
Also on your little list you forgot 2 other options.
5. Ask for squad lead to OB a sniper.
6. Rail Gun Tank.

I've lost probably lost 20-30 Thale's. Thanks to being annoying enough to warrant sending someone on search and destroy to deal with me in PC. I almost never snipe in the red line, but when I do it's the best place on the map to snipe from. And if I'm not in the red line. I'm somewhere that might as well be the red line because I'm on a rooftop or ledge you're not getting to without calling in a drop ship like I did.
Like I always say though..
You can get more kills with a Charge out of the red line, than with a Thale's in the red line.

I really wish Sniper Rifles were more useful. It's a shame how they have to be used nowadays.
Snipers don't need more damage. Get this out of your heads. I noticed someone above complaining about not being able to OHK with Bodyshots.
What kind of marksman are you!?! WHY AREN'T YOU HITTING THEM IN THE HEAD?
Headshot damage needs a larger multiplier. If I have a top tier sniper rifle, I should be able to OHK in the following ratios against other suits of similar meta.
OHK to body with Light Frames OHK to Head with Med Frames OHK to Head with Commando's 2HK to Head with Sentinels
Variable Zoom is a must. This allows you to work at the ranges of 400 or 200 easily. Don't try sniping at 100. Rail Rifles will kill you.
We also need better DMR's. Turn the Tac versions into 150 damage variants with 11 round clips. Higher RoF (Around Bolt Pistol levels). Would be more meant for suppressing at range rather than killing. Being able to lock down an area from 200m away would give them an excellent role in homepoint defense, being able to stop people from crossing open ground.
Thoughts?

So what would happen if dust actually got BIGGER maps??? <-------LMAO, not trolling The ONLY problem with a redline sniper is the guy who is to scared to go into the redline and kill him. ANYTIME I see an enemy Thale kill, I become the hunter........ come out, come out, where ever you are... I have NO PROBLEM landing my 30k ship on his head. Don't even have to get out. 7/10 times, they never watch their radar/mini map. The redline is here to stay! Adapt or get sniped. The choice is yours.

That would be true if it was another game. This game has a large safe zone, and dying matters. Any other game I can bring any weapon to a sniper and deal with him. My options are limited in Dust, and I lose ISK to people who never do. Make sense?
Overall, redline sniping is a broken mechanic. Please don't abuse it until CCP uhh... never fixes it. Haven't heard anything from them on the matter.

Redline snipers lose a lot of isk and quite a few thales, at least when I'm in the match. It's not hard to kill them, all you have to do is try.

Ah, my bad. They do lose ISK, because I get a MLT Dropship and take an HMG over to them. But seriously, should I always have to drop what I'm doing to eliminate one dude that will probably resume his position? Should it take a minute or two to kill someone that can kill in seconds once in position? Think about it.
You also ignored my entire post, by the way.
