Not true. A galscout will easily get under their scans with no dampeners. In order to scan the galscout, they will have to fit a precision enhancer. Should the galscout fit a dampener, the calscout would have to fit another precision enhancer.

This is people's argument almost 100% of the time, that "it needs to be able to counter the gallente scout". Seriously? So you're telling me that the way we need to balance the Caldari scout is to make it competitive with a SINGLE other suit?

No one ever talks about dampened medium frames, or the other two scouts.

Do you guys play a different game than I do where everyone only runs gallente and caldari scouts? That's what it sounds like to me, Scout 514 lol

The Caldari scout does not need an extra bonus to precision just to be able to counter the one suit in the game that can dampen below the Cal scout's precision.

Without a single precision mod, the Caldari scout can already passivly scan 99% of players in the game. Yet just because it can't passively scan the Gallente scout, people feel that it needs the precision bonus in order to scan 100% of players, while still being able to scan DAMPENED medium frames without a single precision mod.

In other words, the bonus allows the Cal scout to benefit from using only shield extenders because
-it already has a huge shield recharge (no need for shield rehcrage mods)
-it already has a low precision from the bonus (no need for precision mods)
-the shield depleted delay is so fast that the shield extender penalty barely affects it

Essentially making it so that the only reason to run anything else in the high slots is a precision mod in the case that a gallente scout is running profile dampeners...

How does this make any sense?

FYI, precision is a million times better than dampening (as long as you're in a squad that is)

Want your whole squad (including heavies and assaults with poor e-war) to be able to see the enemy team 24/7? Just run with ONE Caldari scout.

Want your whole squad to be able to hide from scans? You have to have EVERYONE run profile dampeners, or have EVERYBODY be Gallente scouts.

Scan precision should be something that can be easily avoided unless its an active scanner IMO, and the eWar changes mostly reflect that. The problem is people don't want to have to deal with Gal scouts that can survive more than three bursts of a combat rifle, and thus want it to use all of its slots for dampening. This applies to all scouts. But, after they complain about scouts being armor tanked, they complain about scouts being "invisible". In this game, there is no invisibility, except to scans, which is as it should be. TL;DR--Scanning should never be stronger than dampening, and balance shouldn't be determined by comparing two scout suits. All scout suits need a piece of the eWar pie.
