Just curious about there being an odd ball player such as myself who has managed to max out the ion pistol while also having proto gal assualt. Currently I have lvl 3 assualt lvl 5 ion pistol lvl 4 sharpshooter lvl 3 proficiency and lvl 3 reload. Does jt get any better or is it still a bad pisol. How would you compare it to the scrambler pistol and bolt pistol? |

I got proto flaylocks and i regret nothing, i skilled into them after the godlocks got nerfed so never got to see them in there true form. I also have proto MAGsec

I use the ion pistol VERY often. since the gall assault is my main suit.
the ion pistol kciks ass FROM hipfire. as per the gall assault bonus. the charged shot. literally dosnt miss. and is extremely goo dat killing scouts (looking at you caldari). don't use the charged shot first unless a scout is comeing at you. although its safe to charge shot anything but a heavy. a single charged shot from the cro ion with ehncanced damage mod and prof 3 is enough to OHK 'almost' any suit that comes against you.

Ion is for taking a match off, running the bolt pistol says once i land this head shot I will feel better.

I've always wanted to spamfeather it for 11 shots, then land a full charge, seems most efficient in DPS terms.
Tried using the Vaporlaw creo, and i spent like 6 lives being shotgunned to death from 600 armor Galscouts.
Try to scan one with ewar, they run a 460 armor galscout thet hides 100% against my non-caldari scout.

Gotta admit though, it's a decentalternativeti the ScramPist.

How about the Bolt Pistol any luck there I found it to be pretty darn good at the advanced level against random pub players I 3 shotted most suits at a distance. |

I love the aesthetics of the Ion pistol. I use it regularly.
I fit it on my HMG heavy (Yeah I know)
Gone on some impressive killstreaks with it but its still awful.
Bottom line is the spread is only barley manageable at sharpshooter 4, which is insane and the power underwhelming.

It's incredibly fun.
It's just incredibly likely to get you killed more than any other sidearm.
Besides it's terrible stats, if you fire it too fast, too irregularly, or hold it down for a millisecond longer it will overheat you will be in for a world of hurt.
