So I decide to play some Ambush. What a joke this was. On my team was at least 80% heavies. There was so many heavies I tried to follow a target through a door, not happening why because three heavies are blocking it as they try and squeeze through it. Try and kill a target, nope 5 heavies waddle around the corner and steal the kill. There was so many heavies in one area I could not even move. I started to feel like I was going to suffocate in RL.
I am not complaining about heavies, I am wondering where is the diversity in the game. Some matches its wonderful and others it seems like everyone shops at the same store. A bunch of cookie cut clones.
I would like to see more Diversity in Dust. Some matches are sorely lacking while others are OK.
So what racial suits and weapons would bring diversity back to Dust?

I get massive kills with my amarr light frame + combat rifle.
Here's a militia build that can spill some blood:
Ranger Militia Amarr Light Frame Militia Combat Rifle Militia Scrambler Pistol Militia Nanohive Militia Precision Enhancer Militia Range Amplifier (x2) Militia Armor Plates
If people would quit acting so scared and come out from behind all of that armor, there are plenty of fun and durable builds to play in the weaker dropsuit classes!
A corp for lonewolves where squadding and comms are optional, but exceptional team play is expected.

This. So much this. The thing that I love about Dust is the options. This is a game...not life and death so I play, and have always played, the fits I wanted to. There is nothing attractive about win buttons for me. Its so obvious when things need to change and people keep lying to themselves. When half a team is in the same fit, theres obviously a problem. When its the same weapon over and over in the killfeed theres a a problem. Heavies ARE going to get nerfed and its their own fault. I should be more specific, Sentinels are going to get nerfed. An assault buff isnt going to help unless they plan on giving them 1000hp and dmg resistance |

The reality is that there are a ton of scouts & sentinels running around. I've seen just as much of one as I have the other since I started to really play again.

This solely based on game mode and map.
Ambush compound....expect a lot of heavies.
Bridge map domination....cloaked scouts with heavies at point and a flux ton of tanks
Open map.skirmishes....fast cloaked scouts
I could care less what people bring because I'm multi spec. 47m sp gets you many weapons, suits and versatility for any occasion.

You see this is one of the, umm what you call it? Banes of track shooter like DUST, sure the idea is, with more EHP in general and less instadeath people will be more likely to make more diverse fits in each persons attempt to find dropsuit nirvana.
However our EHP modules VASTLY out-benefit any of the other modules we have. For example a Proto Armour Plate provides an extra 150 EHP, for most weapons this is equivalent to another 0.3-0.5 seconds to kill your opponent.
Now answer these questions Would I rather have 0.3-0.5 seconds longer to kill my enemy or . . . . 2 second reduction on hacks, that I may never even do? 2x them stamina so I can run in and get shot to bits faster? 5m extra scan range on medium suit? (18m)? Run 0.8m/s a second faster and run in to get shot to bits faster? Be harder to see on radar, yet still be visible to the naked eye?
If you answered Yes to any of these questions, why? Just why? If you answered No to all of these questions, the reason for lack of diversity becomes obvious, why sacrifice so much tank, to fit more fitting intesive modules that don't directly increase your survivability.
It's just not a mathematically sound descision to make.

You complain about heavies.
The heavies counter is the shotgun scout.
You want scouts ehp nerfed, you want the shotgun nerfed, you want re's nerfed, you want the cloak nerfed.

It's just not a mathematically sound descision to make. I think the real problem is most people want to be slayers regardless of what the suit they pick was actually meant to do. I mean if you don't want to be a slayer there's not much reason to pick an HP module over another type of module. Because all that HP module does is keep you in the fight just a little bit longer but if you're not wanting to be a slayer then you're not wanting to be in the fight.
Can't say I'm all that surprised.

I answer yes to most of those questions (never really ever used a speedhack suit outside of PC)
I generally run low ehp on most suits (except for 1 heavy fitting and yes, I do have a heavy with 3 complex kin cats) favouring biotics or ewar or whatever over slowing myself down with armour (even on armor based medium/light) suits I rarely fit more than a single basic plate)
Why? That's how I prefer playing the game, cardiac regs have saved my ass more times than how much ehp I have.

Nice to see someone else not conforming to the norm, I run Minmatar so my suits are inherently lacking in the EHP department. I can't wait till the move the Codebreakers to High Slots.

An assault would be a breath of fresh air. The sentinels will not get nerfed just because a lot of people use them.
If anything an assault buff would help stop the scrubs ( you know who you are ) that run a sentinel suit with the light weapons, since the assault suits don't live up to the potential that they should have like in the past. |

Would i rather run a complex armor plate with 10% movement reduction so i cant walk, run, strafe, or jump as high as i could.....the answer is hell to the no.....only noobs and scrubs depend on max eHP to win a fight.
I would rather have the speed to out run and out strafe anyone over an extra 150hp especialy when a rail rifle can chew threw 150 hp like nothing.
I wpould rather have the eWAR aspect over restricted movement, because to be honest your eyes can only see what's in front of you, not whats behind or next to you.
If anything i might, and only might use a feroscale armor plate to give me a little extra eHP while not restricting my movement at all |

Tell that to the Calogi.
I still don't get the hate for heavies using light weapons. They're easier to kill in CQC than an HMG heavy and only slightly harder to kill at range. Though I can agree that they're irritating if they're sniping or sitting up on a roof you can't get to where they can safely back off and heal.
Can't say I'm all that surprised.

Obviously there are more heavies than scouts because heavies are the most easy dropsuits to use in this game with HMGs. This is also an indication of imbalance but hopefully hotfix Charlie fixes that.
"One does not simply" run like a Raptor. Only Mk.0 Scouts will do that.
