I've always wanted to get an answer to this: does anyone know why there is sometimes a sound effect when you get a kill? This only happens occasionally (and it's not the headshot sound I'm talking about); just a regular kill (+50).
Usually you don't hear anything with kills, but I have noticed sometimes you get this little short tone sound. What scenario needs to occur during gameplay for this sound to start happening? What does it signify? CCP?

Killstreaks used to sound even better when in the old days.
The tone would just get higher and higher.

I think I heard this Saturday.
I got killed by a guy named Sov3r1gn (I think that's it). He and I got into a long range fight, him with a laser rifle, me with a forge gun. I was really only focused on killing vehicles and him and after a few kills, I started hearing what you're talking about. I think it has to do with your kill streak.
That's my guess anyways. |

It also makes a sound when you get multiple kills using OB but you must have a kill streak before using the OB, then it will work

I know to what you are referring.
It's three descending notes and not the head shot variety.
It's also not a kill streak indicator because I recently got it on my first kill.
It's rare and mysterious, like a smart woman.

Yeah, I'm not sure. If it does indicate killstreaks, then what is the threshold? It doesn't start happening after the second kill, or the third. Let's just say my killstreaks are not that high usually...

I was talking about this to a corpmate and he thought it was from killing enemy squad leaders. I'm not sure if it is 100% accurate but ever since he told me I've been keeping track when I kill squad leaders. Everytime I've killed two squad leaders in quick succession I've gotten the gong sound. |

I know exactly what you're talking about. In fact, your OP expresses my thoughts when I played this morning. Its subtle. Not like the deathbell but just a subtle tone. If I remember correctly, it seems to come about whenever I was close to death, should of died and yet I get the kill. Somewhat like a comback nice way to pull it out for a win type of sound.
Does our data match? I do know the sound you speak of tho

There used to always be one, that would get higher and higher pitched as you went
