Destiny is a very cool game. They have done the PvE better than almost any game I've played that allows open world exploring, and the online aspect/MMO feel it gives the game is fantastic.
But honestly, the game is essentially an online borderlands with more sci-fi, less random weapon generation, prettier graphics, a much larger/expansive world (with no load screens between areas), with PvP game modes, "Raid" MMO style missions, and a social area.
Everyone keeps saying "Oh Destiny is going to be cool for a month and then everyone will stop playing it"
WRONG. You are so very wrong. If you've ever played Borderlands (and enjoyed it) you know exactly why this statement is wrong. As you progress in Borderlands you get better weapons and are constantly comparing them to your current ones. This exactly how it is in Destiny or other MMOs where you can continue to find better and better loot.
Not only that but there is faction and crucible (pvp) gear that you have to be certain ranks to purchase, meaning that a significant time must be spent playing completing certain missions or "bounties" before they are unlocked, and then even more time spent before you can purchase them with. ____________________________________________________________________________________
Then on top of everything, all of your gear can be upgraded as you use it. Use a higher rarity weapon long enough and it'll give you different choices for how you want it to preform as well as giving you cool features which make that weapon unique compared to others.
There's even two separate skill "trees" that can be chosen from, and they can be swapped back and forth just like weapons once you unlock the second one at level 15. Each one slowly unlocks new skills and upgrades for your class, which is pretty cool despite it being very linear.

I can loot ***** in Destiny I suppose......
Probably the only reason I like it over Dust is the sound track which I think is nice as well as the graphics which trumps Dusts.... though to be fair if they didnt on the PS4.......

Wow that was fast. I don't think I've had a post moved to the Locker Room so quickly. Didn't even get 5 minutes lol
Please community, keep comparing Dust to Destiny then. I really don't care I guess if CCP doesn't.

So you are saying that destiny is like borderlands because your constantly unlocking stuff but it features great graphics?.
That sounds absolutely awful.

Gameplay mcan wise they cant but density on the PS3 i might add is pretter runs smooth has an engaging story. Very fun openworld exploration. Fanatics co-op mission,
PvP that encourages you team up and work together(really you get pantsed if you dont so if ya going to pvp bring friends)
And simply as a game is vasty more enjoyable game.
Yes they are diffrent styles of game but as games destiny is simply executed flawless and is way more fun.
I really gave ccp a shot but destiny is going to be the next big scifi game

Over the weekend I capped a Titan in Destiny Beta (which did not take very long) - PS3 version. I liked: *story driven gameplay (although capped early in Beta to L8) *Full-color, good-looking graphics *Dynamic music score *Intuitive interface *Character customizing, with visuals *Weapons upgrade the more you use them *Treasure chests *Difficulty selection (ex. could chose to replay a map at L3 or L6) *Cooperative missions (some seem dynamic, as in when enough players are on the same map, a co-op exercise will be started on the fly) *Crucible matchmaking seemed to be pretty good *Titan can use 3 weapons, good for carrying a general purpose rifle, sniper rifle and rocket launcher or HMG *Hostiles are fun, AI is entertaining (hostile will peek out behind cover just long enough to invite a sniper shot)
What I didn't like so much: *Crucible (player v. player) pure chaos (killer v. killer) with no support role like Logi *Crucible limited to 6 v. 6 players, with rudimentary "capture the flag" objectives and I only say 2 different maps (granted I didn't play all that much so there may be more, but I only saw 2) *Heavy weapon ammo seems too limited *Ammo resupply "logic" - you don't have nanohives supply depots, you essentially get ammo from killing hostiles, or in Crucible you can get chests with ammo, but the logic of ammo resupply is nonsensical *No mics, less coordination among players (I don't know if there's a mic option, if so I never figured it out)
All in all I thought I'd wind down on DUST to play Destiny, but I don't think one is as much of a substitute for the other as I thought. So now I'm thinking I will play both, so my DUST time will be down, but not totally out (at least not until they shut down the game).
