- Try a shield extender out. It'll save your ass from remote explosive deaths, and in certain situations it's better than a second heavy mod. It's really useful when you're not engaging a ton of heavies and don't need extra HMG damage.

Consistency for the sake of the over arcing story features of the game.....still there's no reason why they couldn't both have a 1/4 and remain with different bonuses and base stats.

Shields on armour heavies are underrated. Having shields to recover is basically doubling your reps/s

You do know sentinels get a 25% damage reduction from splash damage? Shield extenders are useless on armor based heavys i would rather use a damage mod to squeeze more damage out of the HMG. And why you complaining? Amarr sentinels have the highest natural HP and now that on proto they get 4 low slots they are becoming the hardest to kill heavy. |

What in the sideways hell are you talking about? Both gal and amarr have armor resist against projectile 10/15. They're not changing the bonus just the slots.

Is rail rifle projectile?If theyre getting the same slot layout or trading slots the only thing thay will differenyiate them is the resist to rail rifles and snipers. Amaar gets that bonus to shields and gallente gets that and the projectile bonus to armor. I think the change is uneccesary. |

I can see why people don't want a respec, because they don't want everyone all of a sudden switching to the Amarr scout or everyone all of a sudden switching to the Amarr sentinel and so on. But if everyone is switching to the same thing, shouldn't that be a sign to you guys that something isn't right? Perhaps CCP should keep doing hotfixes alongside respecs until they get a fairly equal distribution of allocated SP among players.

I have Shield Extension to level 5 as well because Amarr suits used to have all those lows and only recently has CCP started correcting it so Amarr have much higher preference to lows (as it should be). But what was I supposed to do before all this? And now I have about 1 million SP in Shield Extension I will never use.

I have Shield Extension to level 5 as well because Amarr suits used to have all those lows and only recently has CCP started correcting it so Amarr have much higher preference to lows (as it should be). But what was I supposed to do before all this? And now I have about 1 million SP in Shield Extension I will never use. For the average person like me who doesnt read the lore, how was i suppose to know amaar are armor tankers and gallente are reppers, they dont get bonuses to those things. At least respec the amaar sentinels and gallente sentinels since were basically trading everything that defines our suits. |

Oh Im not disagreeing with the change, I think it makes sense. I was more speaking to the point that I like to use a lot of reps on a Gallente suit because the shield is a nice buffer that recharges on its own. It allows the Gallente to be more regen focused than the Amarr since their HP is more balanced between Shields and Armor than the Amarr are.
I'm actually a little excited for this change, I might try some new fits.
Now this does bring up the interesting question of....what about the bonuses? Before the Amarr had the split resistance between shield and armor because of their 2 high and 3 low, whereas the Gallente had the dual armor resist because of the 1 high 4 lows. If we're going to go with the mentality that Amarr should be pure armor and Gallente a armor focused hybrid, should the Amarr and Gallente have their bonuses changed?
Like my ideas?

That's because the slot layouts were stupid from the start. Amarr should have always had the most lows with very few highs to go with its crappy shields and large base armor. This is the theme of Amarr.
Gallente on the other hand are still armor tankers but can actually put up some decent shield defenses. This means 30-40% of their base HP should be shields which regenerate and provide buffer against incoming damage so that the armor doesn't need to handle 90% of the eHP like the Amarr do. This allows the Gallente to fit more armor reps making them more suited for HP regeneration over raw armor HP like the Amarr. the 2 high 3 low makes a lot of sense for the Gallente theme.
Like my ideas?

CCP hasn't changed anything yet nor have they made any decisions yet. Last thing I heard was CCP Frame saying to remember it is all speculative and later Rattati saying the same. Sounded a little ominous to me.
