A low risk role as I see it is a role one takes upon themselves acting in a more passive sense. A sniper is not being aggressive, it is stationary and defending or denying ground to the enemy team, however it is no pressing the enemy with the intent to advance.
A low risk role is also a role, I suppose that attempt to avoid direct or meaningful confrontation with an enemy force that means placing itself in the least amount of danger possible, or a fair and reasonable amount of danger for the shortest possible amount of time.
Its more situational than anything in my mind. Any suit or weapon combination can shift from high risk role to low risk role.
For example an HMG heavy, while highly aggressive is a role that attempts to deny the enemy meaningful reaction time and places the operator of the LAV in the least amount of danger, a 1v1 situation with clear means of escape, for the least amount of time.
Whereas an Assault or a Standard Combat HMG Sentinel who pushes a point knowing there are enemies on it is entering into a high risk role.

A significantly lower chance of dying than average.
Examples of low-risk things:
LAV heavies
Redline snipers
Tower camping in triage hives
Previously one might have considered triple rep Madrugars with a blaster to be low risk.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

if you want a really low risk/ reward suit try this one:
Gallente Scout suit
Sniper rifle
As many profile Dampners as you can fit.
Cloak.
Must be on a squad.
At the start of a match run as far and as fast as you can to the enemy redline. Climb a mountain and hide (hugging the enemy redline as close as possible).
Spend the rest of the match spying with your sniper rifle and relaying information to your squadmates on enemy movements. Don't shoot to give yourself away.
Collect isk after match. |
