My assault doesn't have EWAR Even with 3 complex damps I'll still get picked up by everything running max EWAR Though I'll be able to get under people only running partial EWAR.

Gal scouts have a counter. It's called other scouts running damps, and everyone else has a counter called situational awareness.

Leveling the playing field is not the same thing as creating a counter. Furthermore the other scouts would be at a disadvantage against other suits, whereas the gal scout would not be. So the playing field isn't even leveled, let alone countered.
As for situational awareness it does not exist against a fully dampened, cloaked, intelligent opponent. You are not psychic. You cannot see through walls. They, effectively, can.
Situational Awareness can only exist when there is more than a vague clue of something to be aware of. Anyone claiming otherwise is blowing smoke out of their ass. |

I liked what he was trying to say, but then seeing him jump over heavies heads and strafing around them knifing them to death after saying "dont engage heavies at cqc" kinda proved what he was saying wrong. Then he complained about gal scouts not having a counter, when in all actuallity it is HIS ONLY counter. People complain about what kills them, and you moody (as much as I may like you) are no different.. |

The video is OK but the message from 30 million plus vets telling people that it is intelligence that lets them stomp is tiring. I can start a new character and go 25-0 in Academy matches, while I didn't go positive at all the first time through. Why? It is just experience and playing the same maps over and over. I didn't get smarter or more skilled.
Moody is a really good player but like most others he seems to be deluding himself regarding why he does so much better than those he criticizes and yes, a lot of it has to do with SP and some with proto gear and having the luxury of many roles maxed out and a squad backing you up, but even without that, it is mostly just playing 1000 hours and being able to play a map with your eyes closed. It isn't that these guys suddenly became geniuses while everyone else is morons.
Because, that's why.

You can counter with an ADV suit. even a STD suit.
It's more on fittings.
The biggest problem with it all is that currently CCP has all the tank modules set to really low fitting requirements..
Where the support modules like Kincats, Code Breakers, Ewar.. Have all high fitting requirements.
Stoping the ease of having a counter suit for the average mercenary.
P.S. Gallente Logi active scans are the Counter to all scouts.
No where in concepts was it said that every scout should be able to see the other scout. There was always gonna be a scout that is better at passive scans limiting the brick tanked scouts and one that was better at hiding, forcing other scouts to fit heavy damp to get on even playing field with a Gal scout who has fitted with heavy damps..
If ANYTHING is done to the balance of Ewar it's Gallente Logi made more relevant for active scans. |

Thanks for all the interesting responses. Quite a few diverse opinions.
Maybe being smarter at this game just means breaking through a certain SP barrier? I can definitely say that since I reached 20 million, I have been performing so much better at Dust. Maybe that is the threshold by which time a player can max their core skills and skill up a few good suits/weapons?
