Why did you make changes in game play to increase the experience if you were going to make slot changes and boost the damage mods near their former status ?
The new slot layout will speed up gunfights just threw their design alone , the Caldari will get killed if it's not a protosuit and if they don't have some sort of shield efficacy skill , then with one slot at advanced ... it won't be worth skilling into because it won't have the shields that the community thinks they will ... i.e. : The disparity between Amarr and Gal's ability to armor tank versus Cal's ability to shield tank and yes they have the greatest shield HP's but it's nowhere near the amount of the two formally mentioned , also add the shield depletion and the fact with one low slot , how can any have a choice ?
Will you choose regeneration by using a mod ..??.. , place armor and use a nano but will the suit allow it ..??.. , even more so if you " have " to use a RR , can't choose speed or stamina ... I mean , the choices are none and one will be forced to play a certain way or skill into another race ( once again ) to fulfill a gaming experience .
I play Cal sent and that suit need a second low slot even with the HP's , it need a buff in the armor with one low slot so I can imagine how the assaults will end up .
You will " have " to have prototype to perform and you will still be gimped somewhat with just two low slots .
Boosting damage mods will demolish the proposed set-up's and bring back the feeling of 1.7 , where triple and quad pro damage mod players were like the scouts and heavies now in a match .
CR's and RR's on every suit , in every match , dominating the field .
People think shotguns are bad now , actually they are in just the right spot but I guess those who use them would disagree .
I understand that a wait and see attitude is promoted but just looking at the numbers , and the proposals ... this just feels like 1.7 and the vehicles all over again .
We all know how that turned out .
You would think that CCP would have given the infantry refund that should have been in 1.8.

It would be nice to hear some Caldari's thoughts on the changes but I expect them to be like they are in FW and " shoot themselves in the foot " , so to speak .
It seems like they just don't stand up for themselves at all like the Amarr , Minmatar and Gal's do .

The only problem is that they wish to do something about dual tanking so fixing damage mods really isn't fair for the shield based suits considering you'll have to sacrifice your hp for damage.

Because kids cry on the forum in order to get whatever suit/weapon they use buffed while simultaneously crying to get whatever kills them most often nerf'd. And CCP are stupid enough to actually listen to them. |

They tend to have a calm approach .
Thank you indeed sir .

I just can't wait to see the QQ from weapons and the call for " nerfing " weapons with the increase to damage mods , yes they might need a slight buff why ..???.. it just might throw the weapons off and this is a time where they seem to be at the best balance since I have been playing and that's almost a year already .
Oooooooooh .. the tears will be soooooooooo delicious .

While i don't run CalAssault anymore, it will always have a special place in my heart and closet. 1 low slot? Really? That makes the suit incredibly inflexible compared to the other assaults. It makes a lot more sense to stick with the 3/2 layout that we currently have at ADV, and then when you upgrade to PRO you get 2 more high slots totalling 5/2 just as Rattati wants.
You filthy amarr, with your golden guns and your sparkling merc quarters....Curse you..

Here. I made a fit for you Calassaults. http://www.protofits.com/fittings/index/0/5529
The MLT CPU Module is there to act like a small CPU buff that is very likely. As you can see, even if you guys get a mere +15-20 CPU after the buff, you could fit just about every module to CX.
Also, imagine if that suit had 73 more shields. That would be 625 Shields, which is not something to scoff at.
Combine all of this with a higher sped like Ratatti said and you will have a more than deadly suit.
My best match on Dust, 23/6/4 Placon.
Please unnerf ScPs and fix IoPs...

You could give that suit 800 shields and zero armor , that's what you should have done because that's what it will feel like after the changes .
Hmmm ... 800 is around the max for a Cal heavy ( Who knows now because of future changes ) which isn't much ( That's with a damage reduction bonus ) and that's with 4 to 500 sum odd HP's of armor ... it's just off and isn't much of a buffer given the state of shields and the fact they will have to use a regulator if they can fit one .
That's with no charger of any sort and a bump of however many percent delay without a regulator .
It just won't work without a shield efficacy bonus and a delay reduction bonus .
Just no room for a buffer .
It would definitely need a speed increase to somewhere close to Minmatar because there will be a lot of running away in the future for the Caldari assaults .

Smh. Such a shame. Game gets unraveled by the crying choir whom will not be playing this game by next month. Meanwhile the dedicated has to deal with those whiny players who change this game for their benefit. They enable this BS.
For two years, this game has been something different every three months or so.

To be fair it's not the hp I'm worried about it's the fact that the armor suits won't have to sacrifice a thing and still have damage mods whereas the shield base will have to sacrifice their hp since both shields and damage mods are highs.. A 625 shield suit or a 600-700 armor suit with 2-3 damage mods. I doubt the speed will make up for this.

You're right good sir. People in armor suits always bring up the recharge of shields but forget about the delay too. For instance a crw scrambler charge with 2 follow ups will kill all the shields so you can be raped by a random player in MLT for your remaining armor. Don't get me wrong I will still be playing my Cal suits but like you said the sacrifices a shield suit has to make with these changes are significantly more than a armor suit. P.S. Flux anyone? |

Didn't CCP ratchet up the TTK in 1.8?
8% complex damage mods takes us back to 1.7 doesn't it?
Does anyone else get the feeling CCP has no idea what they are doing? Why is this being considered in the first place?
I like the longer gunfights we have now as opposed to whoever shoots first wins. The current status rewards positioning and aim.
4 complex damage mods robs us of that feeling of accomplishment when you win a 1v1.
Dominion over others is given not taken. Nothing has power over you but your own fear.
