If you kill some one while YOUR IN YOUR RL then you get a 60s un-safe zone count down.
Boom there no more read line cowards correct?
Just an idea no need to butcher is or ban this character CCP. |

This is a surprisingly elegant fix to the redline-sniper problems.

Think about it from a real life stand point. what would kill You if you entered enemy territory? The enemy MCC of course so if an enemy was killing allied troops in its red line wouldn't allied MCC feel that as a direct threat to the battle operation and sent a quick missile off against that person (AKA 60s redline countdown) |

Meh, it's not a bad idea, but it doesn't make much sense (wait for it)... for the game's lore.
I still prefer the solution where anything that happens in the redline doesn't count towards WP or kill count. Like the "burn zone" is the only are where battle stats are collected by tacnet.
It also let's people still abuse the redline if they absolutely need to, but with no gains. |

This is a better than OP's. Maybe the countdown would work IF it applied to snipers only, otherwise you are just guaranteeing a team being stomped isn't getting out of the redline on foot at least.

Can we talk about this after Snipers are buffed? Honestly they're too awful to function well in most areas of the map, trust me I've tried(somewhat succeeded but it was still godawful).
Gallente scout, heavy, logi, and assault
can't touch my post nerfed flaylock sun....

The easiest way to fix RL snipers is to shoot them in the head.
The idea Terram Nenokal mentions is far better than yours. If it's implemented right it would take care of AFK'ers as well.
Can't say I'm all that surprised.
I've been drinking and may be drunk.... probably like most dust players.

30 secs. Thats more than enough time even for a heavy. A good sniper can easily kill 2 peopl in 60 seconds and most wear fast scout suits so 30.....leave rl or die. Personally its so cowardly that as soon as they kill from the rl it should b instant death to them. Imho
CCP ain't solely responisble for killing Dust....the assholes who exploit the mechanics of the game did their part also.

How about just automatically showing anybody in the redline who is in there for more than 60s and then they would pop up on the redberry's scanner. (Larger time limit?idk)
"One does not simply" run like a Raptor. Only mk.0 Scouts do ... wait... I'm still outclassed by Gal scouts.

What about a rolling clock? If you are in it for 45 seconds and leave, the next time you enter you only get 15 seconds total and it starts on entrance, not after getting a kill. This means after 1 kill in the redline, you better keep out of it or you'll get eliminated.
Then after each respawn, the total time authorized in the redline after a kill is cut in half. The first time you get 60 seconds, 2nd time 30 seconds, 3rd 15 seconds, 4th 7.5, etc, so if you kill someone more than 3 or 4 times and are subsequently killed yourself (or you are blown up in the redline because you don't leave it), you have to be sitting right on the edge of the redline in order to get out quickly enough.

Very true, if the timer restarts by goin in goin out it wouldnt stop rl by with only 30 secs to be in, you cant be shooting too much. U have 15 secs to set up, target, shoot and 15 to get out. Rl tanks is a whole nother problem altogether. Wont stop it cometely but it can slow it down a lil. Theres no 4eal solution but to get rid or red zones altogether so said snipers can be hunted down, not countersniped???

While it MIGHT solve it that way, personally I am in favour of moving the redline back and simply killing anyond who kills someone while in their own redline.
1) Makes vehicular transport relevant, if you have to travel over a mountain and across 700m of grueling terrain, you are more likely to wait for the fella offering to ferry you back and forth from the spawn point.
2) Makes redlining your opponent a risk, not a tactical play. Currently once your redlined, you have had, if you move the redline further back and then give a safe spawn point, suddenly waiting for some hapless redberry to run into your sights is liability because your not where should be defending points, a well fit dropship can just fly right by and set up an FOB on map, you must now spend precious time scrambling back to defend the points your enemy is now hacking.
3) Stop people using the redline like a safe retreat, currently tanks, heavies and pretty much anything with a meaningful amount of EHP can sit on the fringes of their redline and disappear behind as sooj as they are in trouble, you can't follow them in, and waiting outside usually gets you sniped by a thales. By moving the redline back, you can sit on its fringes all you like, but you will be so far from the fight, you might as well be sat in the MCC twiddling you thumbs.

Redline snipers are aggravating but no reason to change the game for everyone else. How can you fifht your way out if the redline if you can't kill anyone from it?
