Back when i first watched the fanfest 2014 footage i noticed that there was much debate about commandos feeling like they had way to much overlap with other classes and that for legion they were debating weather or not commandos were going to be re-introduced and in what form they would take.
There has also always been alot of debate over the last year or so about assault suits not performing particularly well at any one role and as a result have been oftin put by the wayside as people use every suit except the assault suits for front line troopers.
I have come to an odd conclusion based off my examination of other games and their balance mechanics as well as taking 2 years of experiance of being a top 250 player in dust.
Merge the commando and assault suits.
the result would be our current assault suits that can carry two light weapons.

Well yes and no, currently the problem with commandos is that they are way too slow, and the large hit box deminishes their survivability and HP advantage to nothing. changing the commando to a medium frame eliminates the disadvantage and alows the commando class to actually perform as a devestating force on the battlefield in a way that doesnt overstep the sentinal/scout and logi roles. scouts maintain their speed and stealth advantage, sentinals maintain their EHP and thier status as heavy weapons platforms, and logis maintain their horde of equipment.
If you accept that the above idea is plausable then the only real question is weather or not to have 2 sseperate medium frames in the form of assault and commando or weather or not you just give assault suits 2 light weapons and be done with it. potential balance problems could be solved with either the removal of the granade slot or the removal of the equipment slot to compensate for that huge influx of utility ensuring that logis maintain a critical importance on the battlefield to make up for the new difference in offencive utility compaired to the other 3 classes.
The idea definatly has some merrit and while it looks OP at first you have to remember that in a stand up fight things will still come down to skill. heavys will have that HP and DPS advantage, scouts will still have their speed, stealth and overall scouting ability. and logis will still have thier massive support capabilities to compensate.
Ive done alot of thinking on this and while it may have flaws i currently cannot find anything gamebreaking that would make such a change a bad idea, so i ask for rattati and the community to think over the idea and provide some input on any possable pitfalls.

In your defence they did exclude the Commando role from the Fanfest presentation and said it was problematic as a mixed role suit. Guess they rescinded that decision.
