Lol the question is about snipers and heavies not individual people. Want to run them down do it somewhere else.

And realisticly what would happen to a sniper if they used a ranged weapon up close? Why does no one understand that a snipers role is to stay miles away and shoot from a distance? It's not that thry dont have the guts to run in guns blazing, we have the brains to stay our distance and pop the heads off the foolish ones running in.

It's not that thry dont have the guts to run in guns blazing, we have the brains to stay our distance and pop the heads off the foolish ones running in. A combat soldier who is shot in the back of the head by an enemy 250 meters away who he didn't even know was there is a victim. Nobody can possibly maintain 360 degree awareness out to the range of a sniper rifle. Yes, combat soldiers use cover as often as possible, but because some situations in battle require exposure to snipers on approach to an objective, combat soldiers are forced into an uncomfortable vulnerability, as they are aware of an unseen threat about which they are helpless to do anything. In general, combat soldiers must die in order to get an azimuth to the sniper's location. Snipers are armed with a telescope and a cannon. Combat soldiers are armed with a close to mid range weapon. Who has the advantage? It takes guts to charge into a battle zone, knowing that snipers are out there and that if I tarry too long, I will be targeted and dropped. So I have to stay on the move, while maintaining 360 degree awareness within 70-80 meters, which means turning my full body around in a circle every five to ten seconds because there is no peripheral vision or head turning, maintaining trigger finger readiness and split second decision making when an object comes into view - friendly or hostile? Add to that the randomness of terrain glitches, getting snagged on walls and uneven ground, and running/jumping fatigue (in some games), ammo count, squad formations, and tactics specific to the surroundings (urban, jungle, open), the mind of a combat soldier can be crowded with endless possibilities, so we train. We train. We train. And only when those skills have become second nature we move fluidly without hesitation onward, onward into the next ambush, and now to cover, but always steadily progressing to the objective. Contrast that with the lemonade-sipping sniper taking in the sun on his lawn chair while holding his crosshairs on my head, waiting for the clear shot. Who needs more brains? Where's the respect man? I wish snipers would join the fight and dare to step onto the battlefield. Come on in. The water is fine :)
Very well put but you will find as a sniper I can never stay in one place to long. As soon as I am spotted I am pretty much dead. We are alone. Our squad are the people we are defending. No one is defending us. You say we have no guts or skill. I say it takes plenty to sit up there alone constantly paranoid the tunnel vision will be our death.
I do respect all classes of mercs. They all take a level of skill to use properly. Just in the hands of the right person snipers can be a key tool to victory. Yet on the other hand a soldier with a great eye can be our downfall. Once one merc spots you. His whole squad comes down on you like a ton of bricks.

Dropships are easy to avoid. Run directly underneath them. Confuses the hell out of pilots

At no time is anyone not in combat on a battlefield during a match. Effectivness is the only valid word that can be used to describe a player in this game. That being said. My popping heads while sipping beer from the redline is very effective. I get the fun I was looking for, a good beverage to relax with and **** off all the right people. Effective.
Well said although I do dislike sitting on the redline. No real challenge

I don't care for your kind and will hunt you down , you give snipers a bad name and make us look scrubby . I will remember your name and if I see a sniper rifle next to your name in the kill feed . This is the truth and why Snipers are dedicated with a certain animosity that even scouts during the pre~hotfixes could never match in utter hatred and spite. It's enough to say that even non~thale users can excite such hatred, that players, having been killed by a sniper, would spend a whole match to simply find and kill that one sniper for the sake of killing them and removing that perfect score sheet of theirs. When scouts, then, and heavies, now, kill you there's just a bit of annoyance and reevaluation of how you could've done something different and added different equipment to get that kill. With snipers you just want revenge at a personal level. I'm always happy and proud when careless snipers forget about range and think sniping at the top of a building whose in range of an installation railgun that i have good aim with dies. Frankly the bigger and flashier the weapon of death we wish to toss at the sniper is, the happier it makes us feel.
Even as a sniper I genuinely like this.
