if you're a masochist (AKA Minja), NK
In every other situation (and even the above 60% of the time) you want a SMG
"Minmitar Scout" and "Masochist" are synonyms.

Nova knives all day. Also if I had an extra choice of not listed weapons I would go Bolt pistol. Who doesn't like blowing through 150+ armor from 50 meters out in one shot?

i love my NKs and id love to run them all the time but with the amount of Cal snitching going on i gotta run my SMG from time to time.

Being able to successfully kill front line assaults and the like and even Heavies with NK is that much more satisfying. NK are excellent 2nd weapon. I just came from Cal Scout nerf thread, so I'll expand a bit here: I think that Cal Scouts were the only thing that broke NK play style. If you buffed NK in any way they would be definitely OP. All CCP needs to do is make sure that Min Scouts don't get picked up on passive scan so easy - be it by nerfing Cal or Switching stealth bonus with Gal (like Gal would get hacking and Min would get dampening). If we had that NK would be one of the best and def the funnest secondary weap.
PLC, NK, Scout - before 1.8.
That's right, I stack that OP Sh!t.

The SMG is good but the magsec is better. But nothing says fuckyou like knives to the face.
