If there is talk and action about revisiting slot layouts and general everything about certain suits... How about we make Medium Basic suits relevant in DUST 514.
There really doesn't have to be much done to them, except our idea of what they are.. and a small change.
Give them 2 Equipment slots.
Medium Basic Suits need to be seen more as general purpose suits for each role, therefore offer a little bit of both variants.
Remember Basic suits don't receive any special bonuses.
But the ability for an inspiring new player medic to have 2 equipment slots.. before having to get level 3 and the logistics suits. Also it would be just making the Basic suits relevant.. allowing players to buy and use them in certain circumstances.
Would also like to see the proto Basic suit variant be half the cost of the specialized proto variant. To give some weight to the choice of a lvl 5 Basic skill in a medium suit..
Instead of how it is currently where there is absolutely no point in basic suits beyond getting a specialized variant. |

Also the other basic frames could use a purpose.
Basic heavies are unusable thanks to low HP and poor fitting capabilities vs Sentinels, and the light frame lacks any of the benefits of being a scout (which I suppose puts them in the best position, cos those base stats are pretty nuts...)
The way bonuses apply needs detailing too, as do things like stacking penalties. Everything needs to be described. And phrase bonuses in such a way as not to suggest that the skilliing of all four logis gets you up to 20hp/s. (I remember newbies thinking this).
It would seem like wisdom, but for the warning in my heart...

Well 2 equipments is a cool idea. We can all agree that basic frames of all sizes should be cheaper. I've never understood the reasoning behind having a basic cost more than specialized.
What happened to the repair tool glow?
Why won't CCP answer?

Too many suits with too many equipment slots already. I say you just make em dirt cheap, maybe buff the base stats slightly.
(Armor for Gal/Amarr, shield for Cladari/Minmatar, or maybe both for minmatar, whatever). Durable and cheap, a perfect general use combination.
Done and done.
