 I know this is incredibly far from priority, and probably would take a client side update, but why are we forced into the inertia dampener mode shortly after jumping?
 
 Why not just leave the option there, then when you click it, you activate your dampener? This would make for awesome instances of jumping from high areas, firing away as you fall, then activating your dampener at the last moment.

 Can't you do that anyway? I mean, I remember back when if you hit it at the last second, you could powerslide a little on impact and get forward momentum instead of hitting with a thud and stopping dead. That no longer works but I've mis-hit the button and had to do it at the last second many times and it seems to still work.
 
 (Can't say I've ever tried to shoot someone when I'm falling from a high enough distance that you both need the damper and it's practical to fire accurately, though.)

Nope, you fall for a couple of seconds and then your view is ripped from you into this fixed position with the option to activate your dampeners. You can only fire the gun for about 1 - 2 seconds during the initial fall.
 
 Like I said, this is incredibly minor, but I just love the thought of falling from above and just firing away at someone while you do.

 RIP days of not hitting "x" in my Dren Sentinel. There was no rush like having a Dropship take you to the ceiling of Line Harvest and jump out, eventually hit terra-firma, and survive. It made one feel totally BOSS.

 I never do. It gets me killed sometimes when I spawn in as my scout and just forget to hit X lmfao.
