So I've gotten to the point where I don't really know what weapon I want to skill into next, so then I decided to take look into the market to see what interested me. Ended up on the Ion Pistol page asked a few friends what they thought about it and they all said it was a horrible gun... well they were wrong. This gun is AMAZING, and this is coming from a person who hates CQC. If you're looking for a gun that can delivering the finishing blow to another merc and you're low on health or ammo then this gun shines like no other. It's basically your own personal sawed off shotgun, it'll one hit militia suits, scouts, certain logis, and will scare the **** out of people when all their shields are gone and half their armor is left. If you haven't tried this gun out and you're really into CQC then I highly suggest this weapon as a back up. Just make sure to know when to use it cause if you're starting with the Ion Pistol as your opening move then more than likely you're going to die. I tend to use it with my scrambler rifle so that I can do a charge shot with the rifle, followed by a few quick shots, and finish off the fool charging at me with the Ion. I can't even imagine what this gun would be capable of when used in conjunction with the gallente commando. Anyways I just thought I'd spread the word a little, have fun.
P.S. don't try to take down heavies with this gun, but then again why would you even consider charging head first into the king of CQC.

Scrambler is pretty good, but I tend to really like the niche weapons.

Have Ion pistol at level one, It does not one hit mlts, it does about 350 damage on a charged shot, barely half way charged and it over heats. I did get some kills with it... That was mostly personal skill... Bolt pistol is the hot topic though, Smgs have always been in style, SCP are like a candle fire in the distance... Beautiful from far, dangerous to get close to... |

i use it as my sidearm for my gall assault suit.
fire a few rounds befor the charge shot though. the charge shot should be the 3rd of 4th shot you fire. even brick tanked scouts can surive the charged shot with about 60-70 hp left. so with 3 normal shots followed by a charged will quickly eliminate them. (the ion pistol can fire very fast so watch out incase you over heat it.)
theres nothing like a shotgun scout comeing towards you only to be OHK by a charged creodron ion pistol shot. (the proto ion pistol is a nasty beast).
