Today I was in a game pulled out my strictly tank vs tank fitting. But not a single tank got called out and this map is ideal for blaster stomping to... then when I got near the objective starting getting pounded by AV so switched to my redline tank and began sniping for a while.
Point is I tried to help me team on the objective against proto stompers but I could not their AV was just to strong. So in the end I was killed by a sad milta tank because I refused to let their AV get the better of me. Really my death was my own because I was trying to help a team mate combat AT-1 missiles.
So im putting up the tank and just going to stomp all the time until CCP decides to do something IDK. I have yet for the DEV to respond to any of my posts and tell me why they felt giving buff to AV and nerfing tanks was a bright idea instead of one or the other. Maybe its because " ANGRY ANGRY AV" what to secure their proto stomping, tanks are really always in the way of that :P.
Anyways I really do hope veichels get taken off OMS so I can have worry free stomping with my logi buds 24/7 im really looking forward to it and with cald slayers out of the picture? yuuuup expect some punching montages from my channel CALDARI SMILES

I don't know about all that...I'm having quite a bit of fun running around in a tank. The only difference now is that your margin of error has been greatly decreased--get in, hit hard and get out. I have a variety of tank builds (one Gunni and Maddy for each type of turret) but my favorite is my blaster Maddy (312hp/s or so) with two basic scanners; I can drive around, seek out the enemy, take them out and then move on to the next kill.

My Gunnlogi Blaster build was really fun post-Bravo, had Nitro, hardener/booster on it, with a Light rep/ammo.
Ended up with 30~/1 and 4800 WP.
I might have to drag my PS3 off the bigscreen(wired connection's downstairs) and hop on my tanker alt.

Look its not like you really invest much more of anything than people in dropsuits do both in SP and ISK. In fact isk for isk a tank provides FAR more bang for the buck. Lets go back to the days where tanks actually cost millions of isk than we can discuss how easy tanks are poped. |

It was doing fine the entire game agsint proto AV 100 meteres in the RL they called in those tanks because they reliezed their AV were not going to cut it. fitting isn't as useless as you think. |

That's how infantry wants it. FPS means all infantry all the time, no vehicles ever, even though the Battlefield series is an FPS and there's vehicles in it. SOCOM 3 and Combined Assault were FPS/3PS and they had vehicles. Maybe Dust is supposed to be something different, where's there's faster than light travel for spaceships, but no ground warfighting vehicles. Maybe things 20,000 years in the future are different. |

sorry I hate tankers and I wish all tanks and DS would disappear. I am sick of tanks camping clone centers, 6 tanks circling the objective like sharks, or ADS sitting on top of an objective firing with impunity and soon as they take damage they hit the jets and are out of range then they repair and repeat. I am glad AV is keeping tanks at bay. When it takes less ISK to run a tank than a suit something is wrong.

shouldnt have gone overboard with reps nerf. shouldnt have even touched them... officially. missiles are the best turret to use now.
on a completely different note. i never really had a problem with the great all powerful tanks every1 thought to have ever existed.
i hardly ever died to them when i was on foot using my hmg. they were awfully easy to avoid nearly everyway and were effective at pinning down ppl in typical cluster spots. the reason they were so effective in the first place seems to be because very few would pull out av to try to face them. and the few times where it did happen the av was positioned in an area where the tank already had the more advantageous position. tanks pretty much bandaided up the proto stomp problem for the short term. which was a good thing. now with the tank nerf (glass cannons included) and av buff whats stopping proto stomping now?.

All Armor all day. Still running Armarr for the Gal heavy just doesnt look or feel right. I have both but the Armarr was my first and will always be. Still cant get over the fact we have had only 2 heavy weapons for nearly 2 years for me.

like I said on another dudes post I never found myself getting stomped by tanks or ADS I only ever get killed by big named corps protoed the **** out |

Clearly you aren't doing it right. I still roll people in my blaster, and fear my blaster tanks running 2 proto small rails. My large blaster weakens / kills, the rails do the rest! Great for killing tanks AND infantry.

You seemed like a good tanker, I was just focused on trying to win the event and didn't want a tank trying to steal my kills.
Tanks work best in squads as spotters and anti-tank support for a ground control team. Running solo to help out blueberries is a waste of isk and your time.

Meanwhile FOTM pilots wreak havok on the battlefield unimpeded. Anything that could possibly do significant damage to them doesn't have the range or the ROF to take them down.
Then they say how dropships get killed all the time.....
Everyone cried tanks into the ground, so now if you see a tank, it's a blaster(they did little to change these against infantry) and its also a decent AV weapon. Rails are slow firing, slow tracking and have a pittance of range..... I don't even use a tank anymore. The whole point of a rail gun is to deal out significant damage and take other vehicles out, now if a tank is able to take out a drop ship(again, I haven't seen a dropship die since hotfix bravo was deployed), it's only because the dropship was hit by multiple AV weapons.... |
