You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

OP, he's probably running triple reps. He repairs for a maximum of about 360 HP/s, if I remember correctly. It would seem like wisdom, but for the warning in my heart... CCP BLOWOUT FOR CPM1

Seriously though , the skill points that one place into their tank is just like any other role and is carried on to all vehicle usage and that's what brings better performance . I'm sure it wasn't in a min but I understand what you were saying . Putting skill points into your role helps to make one more solid in that same role and they prob have a large amount of skill points into that role . Not hard to understand but is missed by those who just tank as a means to counter-tank or to spam infantry . It's what real tankers do , just like pilots . You would think that CCP would have given the infantry refund that should have been in 1.8.

I've been drinking and may be drunk.... probably like most dust players.

To actually answer your question (as others have pointed out): Triple-repped Maddys can generally recharge well above 200hp/s. For my Maddy, I have the level 5 bonus for armor repair rate (so 25% added to the base value) along with two basic and one enhanced repper equipped on my default tank, so I'm getting a little over 300hp/s. I'm sacrificing survivability (I'm as good as dead if a missile tank gets the drop on me) for the ability to quickly recover if I can get away. Paired with a blaster turret, my job is to scan for the enemy and take them out if I can before pulling back whenever I take damage from more than one AVer.
