I think it's something along the lines of:
For every one minute spent alive in an Incubus in match, spawn one to three additional AV or Rail Tank player(s) on enemy team.
It's incredible, even though I'm almost a complete nonfactor as an ADS pilot, (5 games and 5 kills...) it's like the enemy completely freaks out and half of them will instantly switch to forgeguns and swarms with a few sicas and a viper mixed in for good measure to try and take me down.
'Course due to the fact that my incubus has more heath than a sica and has an afterburner to boot, I still have yet to lose one, and with half the enemy team saying "OMFG, NOOOOOO, MUST KILL THE DERPSHIP" my infantry teammates have been able to steamroll all but one match where there was an enemy ADS player that was an -actual- threat and killed most of my team the entire match...

My friend tested it yesterday in a domination match, we were redlined and there was 4 tanks on the enemy team, he decided to fly a Gorgon. Nobody was shooting at him, when we was at 1/3 armor left, he changed to an Incubus, just flying, he didn't shoot to anything.....the AV was mad.....
His conclusion was this:
Quote:Dust is full of communist who despise people with enough isk to buy expensive items.

It's the only thing that still costs a fair sum of Isk, and therefor the only thing that brings some extra satisfaction from killing... that, and it's the only thing that can get to just about any space and kill whatever is there.
On another note... why the heck can't I ever get half MY team to spawn AV when there's a vehicle threat?

Don't think that by not getting tons of kills you're a "non-factor." Simply by distracting the enemy team you can be a tremendous benefit to your team.
When I'm tanking w/o a good anti-infantry turret, I like to rush with the ground troops and flank about the enemy a head of them. This turns the enemy away from the advancing troops and gives them an advantage. There's more to making a difference in a match than kills alone. I wish more people would understand thisGǪ

Trust me, I know that. I'm just putting myself down for giggles letting folks know that I'm not an effective ADS slayer.
Now give me a Duvolle of a CreoDron Breach, then I'l rack up the kills.
Personal best is 53-2 with a CreoDron Breach AR. I wish I'd been recording that match...

100% right on. ADS are the bane of my mercenary career. I take a lot of care in deploying uplinks into the most durable, hard to reach spaces, but ADS will clean out any number of uplinks in seconds, not to mention that you can't see them coming on TACNET, just like stealth tanks. I will gladly devote up to 10 dropships in an attempt to take down 1 ADS. It usually only takes 1 or 2 and is money and time well spent. At the very least, I can take them to the theater ceiling in a faux dog fight and waste their time for the rest of the match. It must be frustrating for them not to be able to engage enemies on the ground because of the threat of my drop ship ramming them from above, yet they can't kill me with missile fire due to the maneuverability of my ship.
Crimson ShieId wrote:On another note... why the heck can't I ever get half MY team to spawn AV when there's a vehicle threat?
Easy. 1.) AV is the most unrewarding experience of the game (although I regularly go AV to remove a legitimate threat). 2.) Usually by the time you spawn or change fittings, the vehicle has moved on, and your effort to contribute to the team has been completely wasted and now your stuck running around in an AV fitting trying to find a supply depot.

all a DS pilot needs to do to be effective is fly around with their active scanner on lighting up the enemy team for their squad and racking up the Intel points - so yeah, I'd try to take you down asap |

you should see how they react when you are effective with an ADS, every person you kill respawns in AV and you can almost see them getting more and more pissed off as you continue to beat them, I love when they start to ram these days, my railbus rips most of the terrible rammers apart and they get even more upset.

Thing is when a incubus with small rails and a side gunner is tearing stuff up is that every 1 gets mad. Tankers are getting mad that they can do nothing when a dropship shots them from above and when you get mowed down by bonused small rails as infantry you get even more mad. Cause some 1 actually took their time to aim for you unlike with small missiles where you just have to aim at their feets. |

I had one match a while back where our 1 tank was just decimating the other team. They never fired a shot at him because they were so intent on killing my Incubus that was doing nothing to them but occasionally flying within range. Don't think I got a single kill.
Your game f'ing sucks, but I'll still play it, damn you! Turns out I wont.

What if there was a suit you could run on the ground in that was very expensive, really hard to use, would commit suicide if it hit a wall or if hits another player wearing the same suit, but could only be killed by 1 of 3 side arms, one of which couldn't kill anything BUT that type of suit. If you saw someone running around you and your team, even if he wasn't effectively killing you or your team. More like just walking up behind them one at a time and dry humping them, would you not take out that sidearm and try to blast his troll-inass?

The team that has an active ADS that survives the round has almost always won, in all the games I've played of late.
I've had many games where the enemy team was winning until 5 people switched to AV and ambushed the other team's ADS. Once the ADS was gone my side suddenly started wiping the floor with the opposing team.
It takes about 3 people spread across the map focused on one ship to take out an average ADS user... 5 if the ADS is more proficient. They can heal outside of all gun range whenever they feel threatened, then come in to score 20+ kills by bobbing around at about building height, so that the AV can't target them inside the node as easily.
Tanks are quite frankly, useless against the proficient ADS users and only effective against average and poor users, due to the angle the guns point, and the speed and accuracy the ADS can sidestep with.
Basically, it's so easy to wipe the opponents with an ADS if lackluster AV is present, that people have learned to blow the ship out of the sky, or loose the match.
It's a learned response.

Missile and AV can lock-on/kill/destroy at the same range. The average ADS user won't get 20+ kills a game with AV on them. Stop exaggerating the situation... |

I assume you're not a pilot yourself and have no first hand experience... and where did "who can't tell the difference between ADS and regular DS..." come from? |

Many of them were ingame, claiming ADS were acceptable because they pointed at a STD dropship that just blew up. Ingame it's easier to correct because I can tell them, "that was a Standard dropship". I had to remind them, that generally, if it doesn't have a forward gun, it's not an ADS. Not to mention there are those, of whom I cannot assist due to lack of local reference, who argue on the forums for ADS but don't really understand the difference in utility to STD, and just see some ships flying about, but aren't particularly bothered by them because they don't play the objectives, or for the objectives, in Dom and Skirm.
