Im gonna lead a seperate discussion cause the main thread is filled to the brim with complains about logis and other stupid ideas. Assault suits should get race specific increased rate of fire improvement to encourage the "slayer role". I propose a 5% per lvl to race specific weapons (25% at lvl 5). Back when we had the bugged federation assault rifles i felt like i could actually be competetive with that on a assault suit. I was capable to take on heavys instead of running away from them in fear to get mowed down.
I aswell want to take the initiative to aswell talk about the subject that giving bonuses for armor plates/shield extenders on assaults will do nothing else as just make you look like a heavy with a light weapon which is the wrong direction. Assaults feel lackluster cause they just dont have the power to actually attack a objective. They dont have scan bonuses like scouts and aswell nowhere near the HP of a fully tanked heavy.
I know that some people think taht this would overlapp with the commando which is actually not the case. Commandos are supposed to be versatile suits with 2 light weapons. They can utilise a regular rifle in combination with a swarm launcher to adapt to most situations. Assaults can either fit a AV weapon or a rifle and are not capable to do both jobs at once.
We can argue maybe about a lower bonus of maybe like 3-4% per lvl (15%-20%) but i still think 5% per lvl would be the optimum. |

That needs to come with an ammo increase as the rail rifle has low ammo if not against militia or shield suits. |

only really suits 2 suits is the problem. but 25% DPS is huge too much!
imo the assault as too little situational awareness give it a better base scan range and scan precision. |

I like the fittimg bonus, and I like the bonus that goes to each racial suit. I think we assaults need a slight cpu pg buff, and mayne a little bump to our ewar, so we can see slightly better to flank with, not dampening but our precision and range. |

Using logic like that would mean that you want reduced rate of fire in order to get ammo last longer. Want it?

Even though I'd rather see a temporary buff 'assaulting' stuff like a special assault gear, even rof bonus makes sense.
That would really be the incentive to use assaults and would in a way tune down murderous scouts and slayer logis. While keeping already lethal hmg users at comfortable place.
+1 while waiting for better suggestions.
