right im very bad at projecting my ideas across compared to some posters so what is to follow is more of vision of how i could see base-building around a salvage opp happening the idea is promote discussion around the subject and give wolf-man some idea of what we would like so here it goes.
I log in and load up the scanner, its been fairly busy in new eden and high sec is over populated not much profit to made the corp is looking to expand to new areas, suddenly in low sec their is a ping.
An angel cartel warbarge was shot down by the legion who are now posting salvage licences for 1 mill per 20 clones, the area is low sec sec concord have a minimal presence. I decided to have a look at the site.
I restock gear buy the licence and after a quick clone jump, I drop in. while falling I look around I can see its a little hilly and their is rather large bulk head jutting out of the ground. Im dropping a few minutes away from it and it seems iv lucked out no one else around for now.
hitting the ground I do a quick scan and see the area is clear, I then call in a basic gear drop using my LOS beacon a few short seconds a container which is housing my gear drops in and I load into something a little lighter. I run to the salvage site and can see a few dead bodys around my tacnet marks them out as crew no items of interest but good for biomass a quick scan confirms a large number of guns tanks and other items inside the layers of the bulkhead, but its going to take a while to cut though the scrap metal doing some quick maths this is going to be a 100 million pay day if I could grab the lot.
i run back to base and call in backup, a few short moments later 6 corp buddies drop in and we find a good spot for the command node we watch while a RDV places it and we wait for it the command node to unpack. once complete a mate runs inside and orders a signal boaster to mounted on top, along with a clone vat as to be placed on a wing and just enough power left for a wide band scanner.
a few minutes later we get to work but we can see a number of scrubs also dropping in out in the distance, we call for a pvp guard team, i run back to the command note and link up with the warbarge and order 6 large blaster turrets to placed around the salvage site, my corp chat goes mental as one of corp mates find out a prototype angel cartel tank is in deepest part of the hold. an abrupt call is made for everyone to deploy asap.
the CEO of corp authorises a vehicle/air pad to be deployed and makes a wide band broadcast that one approaching the site will be fired on. an ant line of clones start flooding out of the clone bay as corp mates go to work with their salvage drones
everyone gets to work salvaging the site, a number of teams fly in drop-ships to secure any nearby easy to reach items. a good 20 people are working onsite with 10 in the command node afk or placing defensive walls.
A cheer goes up one of rookies managed to complete the hack puzzle and opened up part of the bulk head that turned out to be a garage, a number of players leg it back to the command node to swap gear into logi suits and repair the tanks and LAVs located, with a verc/air pad down rather than stripping the vercs for parts the pad can be used to take the verc as a complete items worth far more on the open market.
a few members of the corp that are skilled into tanks start driving them out of the bay. suddenly a sniper round kills a rookie out right on the top of salvage site, it seems the CEO earlier broadcast has simply served to alert a local corp that something interesting was in the area, and taken the time to setup their own base. before long the salvage site is now serving a pitched battled with both sides racking up costs as clones drop, luckily the early choice to place a clone vat allows our side to reinforce faster.
the CEO midway though the battle manages to convince a local low sec capsular to provide OS support. and I switch to a stealth suit, in order to place the becon that gives the CAP his fire-location, taking the long way round i see they had not bothered to place walls (tish scrubs) and easily stealth in, waiting a painful minute hoping no-one bothers to check the back of base the CAP launches his strike obliterating their base and heading the battle rather suddenly.
the rather swift put-down ends any thought of a counter attack and the CEO orders myself and few others to salvage their base as well as the main site.
a few hours later after a few more hit and runs on our base or the site we have broken most the site down and eventually get hold of the prototype tank which will be very useful as a PvP item for high priority engagements...or for the CEO to joy ride while drunk. with the site completed nothing else worth the effort of amount of clones present the CEO orders a pack of the base, which takes a around 10 minutes as RDVS and clones repack-up items and carry them off. as the last item to go i pick up my LOS folding it up like a tent placing it my gear container recall that item and drop out of my clone body.
end.
so yeh just sort of like a vision idea i think is doable this is mostly to provide debate and for wolfman to see what he likes. apologies i really struggle with English due to my deslixa so i hope its not to painfull iv tried to keep it readable rather than wordy :D

The idea i has is if you cloned them out you could our right steal their command building, and savalaging it would be like salavging anything else, the idea is keep the idea doable, so i figured a deployable building that you extend or attach to is perfect, so all you need to do is find a place to put it.
Also it serves as somthing corps work towords owning like PoS and in null sec you could build your own reaserch super complex for example.
