Don't get me wrong--I fully believe that the Gal scout is one of the most powerful suits in the game, but there's no point in having a bonus that does nothing. Even from a UI standpoint, less descriptive text is more pleasing to the eye. Here's a thought: since the 1%/level bonus extends scan range a whopping 1.5m at level 5, rendering it useless, why not throw out that bonus entirely and give us back our 5% profile bonus? C'MON! (And don't forget to fix assaults and cloaking. And maybe give some love to the Min and Amarr scouts, too.)

Balance-wise, improving the gal scout is one of the last things they should be doing. Yes 1% scan range on the GalScout is as good as useless but they don't need it anyway. The ability to be completely immune to scans and see massive distance is plain stupid, as fun as it was (still is if you can deal with no tank). I would say more, but I would just be repeating those above me. GalScouts have plenty going for them. The 1.5% is just a cherry on the cake for now.

If you tank then no you are super detectable with 2 high slots on a scout you can use two precision enhancers on any Amarr Minmatar or Gallente scout and detect an undampened gallente scout should they forgo a profile dampener) and a Caldari scout with 2 C Dampeners can avoid detection from everything but a Caldari Scout. The Gallente Scout used to be super FOTM but then cloaks were neutered and CCP is proposing armor plate fitting penalties for scouts. The 1% is really quite pitiful and the 3% gets you to a militia dampener. As if having a MLT dampener was OP. Smell the burning flesh. Taste the tangy sulfur air. You're right i meant you need 1 plate to tank the GAL where you need 2 extenders to get roughly the same HP on the Cal. 1 low vs 2 high, where the low is the more versatile slot.

No you keep you precision however you lose your scan range bonuses. Exact opposite. The amarr are getting their precision bonus and the caldari will keep the range bonus.

(^_^ ;) with high slots I can just stack precision enhancers, but I only have 1 slot for a range amplifier. And if I use a range amplifier I can't use an armor rep, or a profile dampner, or a codebreaker or tons of other things. So if I had to keep one bonus it would be the range, because, like I said, I have more then enough room for precision enhancers.

You can't seriously believe Sentinel use now is purely reactionary to Scouts being buffed like 4 months ago.. Bah, the concept literally gives me to much of a headache to continue to discuss the hilarious assumptions.

I'm not saying the suit isn't "good enough" (in fact, I clearly state my agreement with this fact). I'm merely pointing out the bonus is so bad as to makes its removal unnoticeable. In other words, one of it's "bonuses" isn't really a bonus at all. If it were, it'd be noticeable at level 5. And considering all three other scout suits have two non-garbage (though questionably balanced between all suits) stats, it would make sense for the Gal scout to get the same love. I also concede that Assaults need love, so this isn't a "QQ ME ME ME" thread. Just another observation of CCP's ineptitude.

Yes 1% scan range on the GalScout is as good as useless but they don't need it anyway. The ability to be completely immune to scans and see massive distance is plain stupid, as fun as it was (still is if you can deal with no tank). I would say more, but I would just be repeating those above me. GalScouts have plenty going for them. The 1.5m is just a cherry on the cake for now. I agree--it should be removed completely since it's worthless. It's not a cherry on top--it's a pube that deserves to be questioned.
