Dust may be getting put down for you in a year or so as you put it, but it won't for me and many others who will continue to play and enjoy dust whilst we wait for Legion to be developed on PC and then get ported over to PS4 much like planteside 2 did.

I don't recall CCP ever stating they will be porting Legion to PS4. Have a source on that?

It still doesn't change the fact that Dust is basically being allowed to circle the drain slowly. For what reason? To milk the last few AUR sales they can muster?

Well, they have a game that's going to have the same weapons and gear as in Legion.
Why not test the balancing here?

In fact, they're building the game to be very easily portable to the PS4.

It's just that they can't request premission from Sony to bring this game to the PS4 when the game didn't get a greenlight from the CEO of the company.

I wont believe legion will be on ps4 until Sony tells me it... ccp's word isn't very great... however it would be nice as I have spent a lot of time in Dust love the realm and would only play it on a console

Games take years to develop. Not A YEAR... or even two... Legion will probably be a 3 year development cycle..

As a corporation that is trying to grow in game development.. It would make little sense to pull the plug on DUST until you absolutely had to.

Did CCP do a terrible job at fanfest? HELL YEA.. That was terrible.

Instead CCP just went up on stage and pretty much said... Ok we love the community.. And are passionate about the game... but SCREW DUST AND SCREW CONSOLES.

They got exactly what they gave.

That being said.. This product isn't going anywhere.. it will still be here this time next year.

Fanfest has come and gone. Development on Dust 514 continues, albeit at a limp. Oh, but what a limp...

CCP Rattati has brought some AAA-game to a D-game with hotfix Alpha, Bravo, and the soon-to-be Charlie. Some much needed balancing and other fun goodies have been in these last two hotfixes and it seems like the next few will be just as useful.

...which got me to thinking... Why?

What's the point of improving a game that is going to be put down in the coming year or so? It's actually pretty cruel to the players, when you think about it.

Imagine Dust is an athlete. It suffered through some rough years (alpha - 1.8), squandering its potential, but its fans believed in it. Then someone shot Dust in the spine, I don't know I'll make up a name, let's call him Rouge. Anyway... this guy Rouge crippled Dust 514 from the waist down. The doctors say Dust will never walk again.

Months of intense physical therapy ensue (hotfix Alpha and Bravo). Every week the doctors keep telling Dust might regain some feeling in his extremities, but no movement... until Dust wiggles his toe. Dust tries again and again to stand up on his own, and after all the falls and pathetic collapses, he finally stands... defiant in the face of God! (hotfix Delta and Echo) He keeps up the momentum; by training his body hours every day he starts finding willpower he never thought he had. He was standing, now he is walking! (hotfix Foxtrot) Just when the reporters start knocking on his door to hear his story he is running down the sidewalk of his old neighhood! He neighbors are cheering, happy smiles abound. (hotfix Golf)
