What the term "skill stacking" means, and how it works?

Atiim wrote:What the term "skill stacking" means, and how it works? 2 dudes sitting in a assault derpship, a gunner and the pilot both have for example "gallente assault derpship on lvl 5". Now instead of a max bonus on the turret (lvl5) you basically overskill the turret cause the pilot skills affect the whole vehicle which adds 5 lvls's to the side gun of the ADS. Now you put the gunner who has aswell the same skill up to 5 in the dropship and the turret handles like if you had lvl 10 which gives you a very high rate of fire boost on the side turret.
Simple sayd when 2 pilots are making out in a dropship the side gunner gets a rate of fire bonus up to +100%. |

Stacked pythons I can deal with, can shoot them down as fast as they can me, but incubus.... absolute nightmare impossible to face in a dog fight, can't wait for them to fix that exploit, give that kinda power to normal dropships at about half strength.

Beld Errmon wrote:The gunners and pilots skills both apply, so get a lvl 5 incubus pilot and a gunner with lvl 5 incubus you'll get 100% ROF 50% more ammo and a faster reload speed, dunno if it applies to the pilot as well, but its mean enough coming from the gunner.
Stacked pythons I can deal with, can shoot them down as fast as they can me, but incubus.... absolute nightmare impossible to face in a dog fight. It doesn't apply to the pilot; the most you can get is 100% apparently.
So even if you've got three guys in the thing all with maxed skills it still caps at 100% per turret, for the pilot's skill and for the gunner's.
It's still ridiculous. It takes a Python to like 2500 DPS or something crazy like that, all hovering in the sky and hyper manoeuvreable.

I keep a few Python/Incubus tucked away for when I get 2 other people I know are going to work as a team. Granted, they're not proto all the way around (because I'd never have a tank) but still, they exist. I had one out yesterday, in fact. |

Two maxed out pilots will push a turret to 125% RoF, as opposed to 50% in an ADS. Relevant support skills such as reloading and turret rotation also stack.
It' may only be 100%, but math says otherwise.
It's broken but apparently pilots think it's A OK and defend it like rabid dogs.

Certain skills stack with the gunner and pilot, the dropship skills and the turret skills. It stacks for gunners individually. So if both gunners have python lvl5 and assault dropship lvl5 and the pilot has the same the 50% ROF and 10% damage stacks. So 100% (some say 125%) 20% damage. Works the same way for small turret skills like rotation and ammo.
I will say the assault dropship and racial dropship skill stacking is horribly OP. But the small turret skills should stack for gunners as it doesn't give them a massive advantage, but enough to make it a role to skill into. |

I was always aware that ammo capacity was a skill that stacked, but you guys are telling me the RoF skill also stacks?! But that would be insanity!
Need to test this out, are there any other level 5 python pilots that want to get some testing done on this?
