i speced into min logi last night and started playing with the repair tool and over all logi support roll, NOT SLAYER (thats what my min scout is for LOL)
anyway the repair tool wasn't wanting to lock on. i would have to hit R1 like 2 or three times! and since i was trying to support the entire squad i was switching targets as the need arised but i lost some good clones because the damn thing would lock on!
any advice?

it happens, range is one thing, make sure your in range, but the game cant cope well if there are multiple people around you and tries to lock onto multiple people at once. make sure the square is directly over them.

This is true and sometimes you might revive someone and go to rep them and the tool wont kick in .
It happens and sometimes will get you killed so be cautious .
You would think that CCP would have given the infantry refund that should have been in 1.8.

I find it helps to use the multi rep tool if your working with an entire squad. I use it to manage the team lol... works wonders.. If i had a voice to make changes to rep tools. It would be to create a "Smart Repper" , which would only allow to connect to those with damage... for a thought. Oh yeah, and move it to the light weapon slot. CCP why would a logi need a primary weapon. I should be able to damage people/vehicles with my rep too... And when are we going to get points for repping vehiciles.? |

Aim for the neck. Lock ons find their targets better when aiming higher on the torso.
Center of importances. Try aiming the center dot on the target before firing the rep tool. It helps to track and lock to the location without jump locking to unwanted targets. This helps when things get crowded.
Keep steady. Waving the rep tool back and forth doesnt help if its not locking. Try holding still while leading your target to achieve a lock on.
Learn the delay. Knowing the delay on the rep tool will help you to prioritize when to let go and when to hold on to your current target. Under heavy fire conditions ive learned that you cant save em all.

yep like others said, range and just overall detection issues. Don't keep strafing trying to find them. Just let go and retry. Often times I get annoyed as I end up trying to lock onto one blueberry but another crosses front snagging the line with them. Also, avoid trying to heal at a supply depot. That thing will never let you go. >:(

It takes a little getting used to, but once you do the Repair Tool actually works quite well. Just keep practicing and getting a feel for what works.
Also, welcome to Dust! It's glad to see some new people in this sea of salty vets.

This is just what I would personally suggest...
Use one of the Dual Channel reps if you can. Also be patient with the repair selection box. Its better to get a later confirmed lock for repairs than it is to try and rush the reps and miss totally.
