Are you guys sure that a GalScout's profile will round up to 15 dB from 14.15 dB?
I have played at least 40 games with a dual Complex Profile Dampened GalScout, and I have yet to see the, "You have been scanned," message whilst my Ishukone Cloak was activated. In addition, all CalScouts that I've encountered seemed to never successfully track my character or pinpoint its location while cloaked.
Perhaps I just never encountered a Proto Gallogi with a Focused Scanner or a CalScout with 3+ Complex Precision Enhancers, but 40 domination games against very good corp squads should have produced at least one of the aforementioned fits, right?.. I don't know.
Can some do a test and record it? This issue has been bugging me for a while. |

A Calscout with precision enhancers won't show you the 'You have been scanned' message. Gallogis with focused scanners are very, very rare.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Unless you've noticed someone tracking your movement on the tac net, there's no way to know you're being passively scanned by a Cal scout.

People have been debating these numbers for a while now , pre-change but I haven't seen anyone crunch numbers post-change so your prob on to something .
When I use my scout I use two enhancers and a ranger most of the time and I can't see a Gal until after they de-cloak and I don't even see a faint signal before that .
I doubt that you will see many using three because with two low slots , you have to use rangers or dampeners and that leaves no room for regen , even more so if you like to use kin cats .
That suit is pretty gimped and you have to handicap yourself so much to become functional .
People act like that suit is superman but there is no Cal suit , in my opinion that is better than a Gal or Amarr for that matter and the Min logi is far better .
Their Assault use to be the best to me bar the old logi before they marginalize threw racial bonuses .
They more than likely don't see you .
You would think that CCP would have given the infantry refund that should have been in 1.8.

I'd assume running behind them or standing still within scanning range would be a good way to measure their capabilities. I've done both. Typically, if I see a CalScout, I'd purposely get near it to test its scans against my dampening. Not one has turned to shoot me whilst I followed it from behind, and the amount of times I've stood perfectly still to see a CalScout pass me by makes me question this whole "values rounding up" even more. |

A calscout with 3 precision enhancers and max skills is 15.81 db. So you get under their scans regardless of whether your dampening bonus rounds up. |

14.15 will round down to 14, as will anything 14.49 or lower.
14.5 and higher should round up to 15.
Unless CCP has some weird rounding rules they are not letting us in on.

Profile rounds to the nearest whole number.
14.15 dB = 14 dB 14.50 dB = 15 dB
* Ties goes to the scanner.

No.
A stacking penalty bug applies when mixing modules of like types from different tiers (i.e. Adv Damps + Cmp Damps). The numbers are off ever-so-slightly and work to your disadvantage. In application, Hunter / Hunted scenarios where this anomaly plays a part are highly uncommon. Would ties going to the scannee make a big difference in the meta?
