Out of all the FPSs I've ever played, I've never loved a weapon more than I loved the Scrambler Pistol. Everything about it spoke to me and worked with/for me on an almost instinctual level. I became not only adept at putting many rapid rounds into the heads of my enemies, as to kill them faster than any other weapon in the game(~5000DPS). I became one with that weapon. And so, in 1.8, they nerfed the everliving hell out of the ScP. It no longer feels natural to wield to me, because when I pull the trigger it doesn't always fire. I can't even run a match with an ScP without feeling terribly hollow afterwords. I would biomass my 29M SP character if it meant they would unnerf the ScP. Without a second thought or any regrets. My best match on Dust, 23/6/4 Placon. Please unnerf ScPs and fix IoPs...

Might have to try it again. I don't know how other heavies play without having some substantial SP dedicated to SMGs, whether hmg or forge -- they are lifesavers as a backup weapon. I got to proto SMG before any other weapon including rifles as I knew that no matter what main weapon I weild I wanted a reliable fit to fallback on. Problem is SMG reinforces spray and pray play. I have a SMG/Nova Knife combo and most of my Shotgun outfits I run with an SMG for range... Should swap for a MagSec. MagSec is like an upgraded SMG. Problem is the spool time means you cannot use it as are active weapon. I do run a min scout outfit I call sidewinder which has a cheap MagSec and SMG combo. Not One Lifetime

Well, I'm not exactly mr accurate and it just gets worst under pressure. That means that a pistol with only a few rounds won't cut it. Then there is the nova knifes. I haven't tried them but, I can't imagine I would be good with them. I mean, I'm not even good with the shotgun, I can't imagine having to get even closer. I do however see the benefit of them if you can develop patience. So, that brings us to the smg. For me it is a back up weapon. Pretty much if I get into a bind and run out of bullets for my main then it is quicker and more effective to switch to a secondary. The basic SMG has 80 rounds which gives you plenty of room to miss and still kill your target. I only have it leveled up to 1 just so I can use it. No proficiency at all and that little thing can kill clones easily. I forgot to mentioned that I have tried the magsec and at one point I was going to to level it up because it has excellent range. The problem is 3 fold. #1 the spool up time. Is not a big issue but, it means that once you start firing don't let go of the trigger. #2 it has fewer rounds than the smg at least at the level I tried it. I REALLY NEED all those rounds. #3 it uses more resources than the smg. That last one was the killer. Every PG or CPU count and when you are maxing them out it makes a big difference.

However, when Bolt Pistols got fixed, I immediately skilled into them and ran them on all my fits for a good month before I saved some SP to try out SMGs. Needless to say, SMGs are now equipped to most of my fits. They work so well as a finisher. Compared to the Magsec, which I regret protoing out during the first week of its release, the SMG is so much better. There's less kick. There's no charge time. It has a higher RoF. It's just a superior weapon.
