my idea is simple.. why not give assault suits the same base stat to precision as scouts.. (not the dampening)
before I move on I would like to let you know I have been a scout since closed beta.
now if assaults had the same precision stat as scouts IMO this would not fix the balance issue but aid us in getting there, it would give the assault something that the commando does not have, situational awareness... we all agree assault should be frontline, however the scout seems to do a better job at that at the moment. this is partly because they can see what's going on around them.
What I think would happen on the battlefield...
we would see more assault suits running precision enhancers, this would combat the assault scout,(no damp, lotsa armour) and scouts (the real ones) would run damps to avoid detection and play the scout game.. you couldn't just rush a building and take out 3 people.. you would have to be smarter and work around the outside.
this would then IMO make the assault a great frontline suit.
NOTE: due to the minimal base range the buff would not affect scanning equipment.
now I wish I could back this up with spread sheets and numbers but all I have is experience, so if you guys could help me out here, constructive critiscm would be much appreciated...

* Scoutly Gal/Cal Scouts will be largely unaffected. * Assault Gal/Cal Scouts will be less desirable.

I see the OP's point and agree somewhat. Assaults shouldn't have the same precision as Scouts, but they should be close.
Scouts are currently 35 Profile/40 Precision base: I'd say Assaults should drop to around 45 Profile/50 Precision. This means the Scouts still have a large qualitative E/War edge, but the Assaults can detect unskilled Scouts (1x CX PE including skill drops them to 34.45db) meaning that the brick tankers become more obvious, since the Assaults can fit reasonably to detect them.
I'd also agree to buffing their Radius to 15m base, like the Logi. |

Thoughts? Scout base stats are already quite more powerful than an Assault in terms of scan/damp. So even though it would be a nerf to assault scouts, they would still be better off than true assaults.

Its just what I was thinking when I suggested assault's scan range be increased to 15m. So assaults could be halfway between scouts and heavies with scan range and precision.
