You need more ISK.

I have suffered from a similar predicament at times. Many times I do far better in my templar heavy than my ak.0

What you are suffering from is not wanting to lose ISK so you are subconsciously altering your play style, playing more defensively to not lose your suit rather than aggressively to win.

Just forget about the price of your suit and enjoy, over time you will start to play the same no matter the suit and in turn better when you have your better suits on.

Wow.....this is so true.....I've kinda loosened up cuz dust is dying....but I still be cautious and name my suit with the price included.....OK just let the isk burn! Nobody can tell you how to fit a suit better than you can. Experiment, and find out what works for you. I need that extra health since it's minmatar. Plus adding an adv HMG to contemplate for the lost CPU/PG would just make it more expensive.

What role do you want to play? A militia forge gun on a militia heavy suit is great fun in my opinion. Making a reasonable / tankyish cheap suit with a powerful rep tool may only cost you 10-20k and you can really support friendlies / get lots of war points. There are many things you can do on the cheap. It does also depend on your skill set in game. Investigate 9/11
