The magsec SMG is dealing with more recoil than the Rail Rifle currently. I am not sure if this is supposed to be the case.
What I do know, however, is that all of the magsec smgs have cosmetic design to include both a holographic sight (similar to bolt pistol) as well as a silencer. This was understood to be held back for a certain amount of time, and many of the Magsec users in the community would like to know when we will actually receive these attachments.
If the recoil of the weapon is to remain unchanged, then at least let us have the sight that we need to give us that assistance for combat engagements where the magsec is supposed to out perform the Minmatar SMG.
The Minmatar SMG sees little to no recoil, therefore making it more effective all around. The magsec needs to be adjusted to allow it to compare to the SMG as a viable second option on our dropsuit fittings. Plain and simple. |

The problem is that the Magsec hasn't utility bonus... Is a video (I've posted it in an other previous topic), if you have the Magsec lvl 1 or 5, the kick is the same... I don't know if it's a bug, but it's not good for the magsec...
To improve it (lol), IMPROVE THE ASSAULT SUIT BONUS 5% reduction kick of rail weapons a level for caldari assaults !
YEAH !
PS: the kick of the Rail Rifle is also to big |

For good aiming with it you need high sensitivity on your controller |

Right on. Thats what Ive been doing. its just that at ranges from 25-40m out you lose alot of dps because it becomes very necessary to reset the bursts, similar to the rail rifle. It just looks very wierd when the iron sight gets all jiggly left amd right while i am adjusting for the up/down recoil. It just would be best if we got those dadgum attatchments already.
To be more frank, CCP, lets get this in-game BEFORE project legion. Where most of us aren't massing to PC anyways. |

magsec needs the HOLO sight or atleast a 1x to 1.5x scope since its the longer range varient of the smg

The weapon works decently if you can hipfire at 1m-15m however it cant take advantage of it's higher range capabilties with how much recoil it gets and the ironsights dont even help at all as they cover over the target with the amount of recoil you get/it jumping around so much(im speaking of of experience with lvl 3 ops).Id like to see the holoscope on the weapon as the sight wont get in the way of targeting the enemey.
Also or anyone who's speced into it the full lvl 5, is there really a big difference in recoil reduction ?

The kick on the rail rifle does help to balance its fairly high damage and range profiles. I do agree that a kick reduction for cal assaults would be just right though. A cal assault with a 25% kick reduction using an ARR and a MSMG would be pretty sweet.
