I was checking Active scanner and I found this out :
CreoDron Active Scanner : 100m, 60-¦ CD 15s, Dur. 5s
CreoDron Flux Active Scanner (supposedly long range, low angle) 200m, 90-¦ CD 30s, Dur. 8s
CreoDron Proximity Active Scanner (supposedly short range, high angle) 60m, 45-¦ CD 10s, Dur. 10s
I realized that the Proximity variant has a ridiculous short angle and Flux variant has a ridiculous wide angle compared to othersGǪ Are those values real, is this a typo error or they truly are mixed up ? |

your forgot their dbu or sensitivity as thats what really seperates them

These 3 variant have same sensitivity : 28dB.
The issue is, as I said, on the indicated scan angle. |

Its correct. Proximity is for quick sweeps nearby. Flux is for far away. |

that looks backwards proximity would want the 90 degrees
but further away i like the wide angle

Exactly.
If you look at STD variant :
Active Scanner 100m, 60-¦ CD 15s, Dur. 5s
Flux Active Scanner 150m, 30-¦ CD 20s, Dur. 8s
As you see, Flux Variant tend to have longer range and smaller angle. This is completely mixed up when you look at PRO variants :
CreoDron Active Scanner : 100m, 60-¦ CD 15s, Dur. 5s
CreoDron Flux Active Scanner 200m, 90-¦ CD 30s, Dur. 8s
CreoDron Proximity Active Scanner 60m, 45-¦ CD 10s, Dur. 10s
To be more coherent, I would make things that way :
*CreoDron Active Scanner : 100m, 60-¦ CD 15s, Dur. 5s
*CreoDron Flux Active Scanner (supposedly long range, low angle) 200m, 45-¦ CD 30s, Dur. 8s
*CreoDron Proximity Active Scanner (supposedly short range, high angle) 60m, 90-¦ CD 10s, Dur. 10s
So my question is : is this a bug or a typo error ? Something is clearly not right there. |

Logically you are correct...the proximity scanner should have a larger scan angle since it doesn't scan very far.
However in order to make the proro flux scanner even viable it needs to have the large scan angle. It is meant to do large sweeps of the map to see where the enemy is just so that you have a location to head towards.
The proximity scanner can scan 3 times in the time it takes the flux to scan once. It has the advantage of being able to scan in front, and then 10 seconds later behind. So while the flux might seem ridiculous, it's that each scanner is specific to do one thing really well. If the proximity scanner had a 90 degree angle it would be able to scan 270 degrees in the time that the flux could only scan 90 degrees. Even though the flux can scan a larger total area, it isn't able to scan for enemies that might be flanking.
This is the general idea for why the scanner values are the way they are.

If we follow that logic, then the Flux Active Scanner (STD variant) should receive an increased angle, to match the behavior of PRO variant. There is no logic otherwise. |
