Mainly i'm trying to find the one that takes the least damage from snipers. I'm not sure what category projectile weapons is under. Or if hybrid railgun counts as a sniper rifle. I thought caldari would be best because they use shields but they don't get resistance bonuses to sniper rifles on their suit so i don't know if another suit that did resist them would be the better choice. |

Caldari sentinels are shield tankers, they get some really wild shield hp / recharge values when fitted properly (80+ hp / second with very, very fast turnarounds) shields inherently take less damage from explosives (mass driver, flaylock), projectiles (combat rifle, smg), rail weaponry (magsec, rail rifle, sniper rifle) and their skill gives resistance to the things that are normally bonused versus shields laser weaponry (scr, laser, scrambler pistol) and blaster weaponry (assault rifle, ion pistol, plasma cannon). This is arguably the best suit versus snipers due to the fast turnaround on shields
Gallente are armor tankers and boast some of the highest hp after modules, but have much longer turnaround on repair rate. Armor takes more damage from explosives, projectiles and rails, but less damage from blasters and lasers. Their skill gives a resisance to rails and projectiles. Best for total HP
The others get 'mixed' resistances - one resist to armor, the other to shield.
Snipers fall under hybrid-rail weaponry. My question to you is for what reason is resisting sniper damage important to you?

Thank you for the detailed answer. Well basically i'm the type who when i get sniped and killed even once by a proto sniper i take it personally. I know i shouldn't but i really can't help myself. I know i will never be able to just stand there and take all sniper shots but i at least want a suit that maybe i will get hit and they will decide it's not worth it to try to hit me 4 more times in a row. Because otherwise i'm going to go out of my way the rest of the match trying to kill them. |

You probably want the caldari sentinel in that case, it's arguably the most resistant to sniper fire - though like all suits it can still go down to it. Though I'd really recommend finding a suit that fills the *role* you want to play - like a logistics, or an assault or something like that.
If your goal is to snipe you probably want the caldari commando, which trades some hitpoints and recharge for a lot more damage.
Snipers aren't a huge problem in this game and usually you can just ignore them due to map design, so focus more on what you want to play rather than what you don't want to be killed by.
