If you are a low leveled player scout, who does not get full bonuses to the cloak, then you are better off using the CPU and PG on other things.
I don't bother with cloaks even though I do get the scout bonus. I'd rather carry uplinks and explosives. those things are useful.
Cloaks do nothing to help me sneak up on people. people's vigilance does not change depending on whether or not you have one. If anything they make things worse with their noise.
So again, if you have a cloak on your suit, I think you should get rid of it. They are novelty items.
This game makes me suicidal.

Or just buff it so that you are actually invisible on the darker maps....

Unless you just walk past a group of enemies to hack their CRU and retreat to do more scout stuff, that's just my opinion tho.
While cloaked of course. Always carry uplinks and a cloak on a scout in my opinion.

Yes, they're novelty items, but I don't feel like quite the sitting duck on 80% percent of the maps in Dust due to a lack of cover anymore... and they're entertaining. Why would I get rid of something that makes my Minmatar scout even more fun when combined with the Nova Knives? Run in, slash a few people, run out, recloak, move on to the next set of unsuspecting players. Or better yet, just stand there for a few seconds, right beside two proto heavies, waiting for them to turn their backs before knifing both. And lets not forget how useful they are for hiding from tanks.
Nova Knives are best sidearm.

There ok the cloaks..eh not good as before,but not bad.

Oh Tin Man, you've had a heart all along... You don't need a cloak to be stealthy. The stealth was inside of YOU all along. All the cloak really gives you is confidence.
This game makes me suicidal.

... Touche... but I still like them, even if I don't need them. Nothing makes me chuckle more in this game than flanking an entire squad of people and knifing them before cloaking up and vanishing by the time the heavies start turning towards their dead teammates. Perhaps when CCP adds more maps with decent cover, like Ashland. I freakin' love running my speed tanked Min suit or one of my E-Wares on that map, and playing Skirmish there has been awesome for as long as the map has existed.

I still haven't fitted a cloak yet. Don't really know what I'd do with it if I did.
Probably run out of ammunition because no nanohives.

Having a cloak, is like putting bricks onyour boxing gloves.
It just makes the challenge go fwoop straight down.
That being said, i'm stillgoing to try and run it on my minja, because that's already Lolworthy.

well the upside is all scouts have 2 equipment slots. so cloak plus hives maybe?

I love my cloak as a defensive tool. Flanking, hacking, running from reds and covering open ground the cloak aids in a scouts ability to survive.
The cloak is not designed to make a scout a one man killing machine and anyone that tries to use a cloak that way is an idiot.
Gun control is not about guns...it's about control.
The only way to ensure freedom is by having the means to defend it.
